Reviews of Broadmeadows Shopping Centre

The shopping centre is a cleanly presented small group of shops with IGA as the key stakeholder. The shopkeepers are a friendly group who make every customer welcome. There is a considerable variety of goods and services available.
The centres only problem is parking. There are insufficient car parking spaces, particularly at school pick up times. There is a large area that is currently a semi grassed muddy area that could well be made into more parking spaces and made attractive by the use of more attractive landscaping.
The major issue with the parking is that the spaces provided for disabled parking have become the exclusive domain of young drivers who park there at all times and at all angles further restricting the actual number of real spaces.
In addition, the number of young non- disabled drivers with no passengers but with a disabled sticker is surprisingly high. This is another issue that Council would be seen to be effective if there were the occasional visit by a parking inspector.
In the Greater London area CCTV cameras are located in many such problem areas enabling fines to be issued without the need for an official to be physically present.
If staffing is the Council issue then this may be the solution that is needed. Experience there confirms that word soon gets around and infringements are reduced dramatically.

Furphy, I think you have the wrong shopping centre. IGA has never been in this shopping centre. I don't know what shopping centre but was it Meadow Heights as when you said about land being next door and there is a school across the road from it?
