Reviews of Brunswick Health Clinic

The Brunswick Health Clinic is an essential part of my family's life. We've been receiving treatment there for close to 20 years. All five of us regularly have chiropractic treatment - where would we be without Malcolm!!

My sons (teenager and young adults) can easily identify when something is 'not quite right' and ask for treatment - how fabulous is that, males who care so much about their health. I love my fortnightly massage and acupuncture sessions with Chris.

Chris (masseur extraordinaire) and Malcolm (chiropractor with a spiritual insight into wellbeing) help me to manage my stress and keep up with all the things I want to do - and there's a lot of them.

Three of us have just recently started seeing Miranda the naturopath at the clinic. She's helping my youngest son deal with eczema, my eldest with weight and respiratory issues and me with a few things that are not quite right.

The staff on reception are all friendly, helpful and easy to talk to. They can just about always find an appointment in an emergency and take an interest in everyone who walks through the door.

I've recommended lots of my friends to the practice and they've all been very happy with the treatment too.

And last but not least there's Voula - the woman with the vision and the passion for health & wellbeing. The practice has grown from a very small chiropractor only business in a small house into a centre which welcomes everyone and provides a range of health services that meets just about every need you could have.

When something happens to one of my sons or my husband we go to this Clinic first before we even consider going to the doctors. Check them out - you'll be happy that you have.

I've been going to Brunswick Health for many years now, using their Chiropractic services and massage.

The staff are extremely friendly and are always willing to accommodate for my needs.
Its great always being welcomed by name and with a smile, even when seeing a different practitioner.

Ive been having extremely bad back problems for nearly 12 years now Brunswick Health Clinic have been able to help minimise my pain and help research into further findings for my problems.

They are a well equipped and professional clinic one which I recommend to many friends and family.

The owner asked me to write a review and having been a regular attendee of Brunswick Health for over 15 years now, I am more than happy to do so.

I can and do recommend Brunswick Health without reservation.

    There are reasons:

    A) The focus is on my wellbeing rather than the dollars.
Until I found Brunswick Health, it seemed that each session with a chiro ended with "Same time next week". This left me with the impression that they were treating the symptoms rather than the cause and that I was merely a regular source of income.

When I originally attended Brunswick Health, (from recollection) I had 2 or 3 sessions a week for 2 or 3 weeks. Then, as soon as my body responded to the corrections, my appointments were scheduled further and further apart. I eventually found that the chiros Lets try 6 weeks between visits was just a little to long. It is my decision to make my regular 'service and tune up' visit every 4 weeks.

    B) Muscle Testing is used as proof of diagnosis and proof of treatment.
(The theory goes something like : Muscles are attached to the bones. If the bones are out of alignment, then the muscles are also out and cant work at 100%. Therefore, testing how strong the muscles are, can confirm both a diagnosis and also the corresponding results of a correction.)

For example, before a (necessary) correction, the chiro will press down on a foot I am holding 6 inches above the table. Even trying with 100% effort, I can feel how I have no strength and cant hold my foot in place. After the correction, the same test will allow me to easily resist the presure. On occasions, should the first correction not quite get it, the re test will indicate that additional work is required

Its nice to know a) that a correction was necessary and b) that it worked.

    C) Correction Methods.
Following on from the muscle testing, its pretty obvious that its the muscles which are holding the skeleton OUT of alignment if something is out.

In a lot of instances, deep muscle pressure is applied on the problematic muscles, which apparently releases the tension from them, in turn allowing the bones they are attached to, to be realigned with much less aggression.

(Instead of having a chiro bounce on my bent leg trying to get my back to click, I now have 60 seconds of (very unpleasant) massage, and a much gentler hands on the back manipulation.

    D) The receptionist overheard the owner ask me to write this review and insisted that I include the fact that the receptionists are reason enough for the visit.
So Im doing what Im told. Its a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

In summary, I recommend Brunswick Health for two primary reasons.

    1) I always look forward to my next appointment with eagerness.
    2) After each visit, I always wonder why I left it so long.

I was recommended to see the Chiropractors at Brunswick Health in Melbourne by my sister in law who forever nagged me about getting help for my sciatica and back pain. I avoided seeing anyone for some time because I have already been to so many doctors and specialist with little result. I was told I needed to manage my pain better and that there was little they could do other than surgery which offered no real guarantee.

I finally took my sister in laws advise because I realised I was getting worse and doing normal things around the house and at work was getting harder and more painful and I was worried about what I was going to be like in 5-10 years.

I must admit I was skeptical at first thinking what could they do that others couldnt, but I was soon pleasantly surprised. The first thing I noticed was their examination process was like no other I have had. (when I have seen other Drs you barely get to warm the seat!). They were thorough and ordered an MRI to make sure they could confirm their diagnosis. It turns out that I had damaged my 2 of my low back discs, something no-one has been able to tell me. Their explanation of what I had, what they could do for me and also what they couldnt do, was clear. Their clinic is professional, clean and friendly and they always give me sensible back advise that I can apply immediately. So far I have seen improvement in my back, something I almost gave up on. I know I have further to go but at least now I feel Im going to get there. Thanks to my sister in law I now can see a future without back pain and sciatica.
