Reviews of Bucket Panels

Do not use Bucket Panels. My experience with Bucket Panels on a recent insurance repair was, to say the least, nothing short of a farce. My vehicle was in for some minor repairs, a new bumper and spray. I left my car with AAMI for assessment and repair the day the accident occurred and I received a call from AAMI to say it had been taken to Bucket Panels for repair with an expected repair time of about two weeks.

I did not receive a single call from Bucket Panels for a week after I left the car with AAMI, not so much as a courtesy call to say they have received my car and work was starting. Eventually I actually went into the shop to speak directly to them to find out how it was progressing and the staff seemed disinterested and spoke to me as though I was an inconvenience to them.

When the work was complete the first time I was invited to come and inspect the car to see if it was to my satisfaction. I found my car out the back covered in dirt but with the rear bumper wiped down. All I could tell was that they had sprayed it in vaguely the same colour as the car. I pointed out that I couldnt tell anything about the blending work with a car covered in dirt and I was told that they hadnt cleaned it yet. Im not sure what their definition of complete is but its sure different to mine.

When the work was complete the second time and the car cleaned I was again invited to inspect it. What I found was a paint match that was poor with several small imperfections. When I pointed this out to one of the staff I was told There is nothing we can do, its a hard colour to match. Also the fitment of the bumper was pathetic with one area sticking out about 15mm from the body. I requested this be fixed before I accept the car.

When I went to inspect the car after this repair I found that the bumper alignment issue at the tail light had been fixed however now the bumper did not align correctly at the wheel arch. This was also fixed.

Since there is nothing they can do about the colour match, and frankly I did not want them doing anything more to my car, I accepted the car and I will now spend my own money to have their repairs fixed by another panel shop.

I would reccomend Bucket Panels to no one.

My car was recently involved in a collision which caused extensive damage - so much so that I was surprised when the insurance company decided to have it repaired. The insurance company nominated Bucket Panels to repair it and gave me an estimated date for the repairs to be completed by. Bucket panels rang me a day earlier than the estimated date and told me it was ready for me to pick up. When I picked it up I was amazed to find that it was in better condition than before the collision. Not only was the damage completely repaired but they had cut and polished the car and it was given a full detailing. This was the first time that I have had to have a car repaired and the experience with this company was fantastic.

I had my car damaged in the March 2010 hail storm in Melbourne and went to Bucket Panels to have the damage assessed. I chose them because they were an RACV preferred repairer.
I was met by friendly staff and photos were taken and I was on my way within 15 minutes. I got a time about three weeks later, which would give Bucket Panels plenty of time to get the quote to RACV to be approved. Five days before (a Friday) the repair is to start I ring Bucket Panels to make sure everything is okay. They said that they haven't heard from RACV, but the approval should come in that day. They promised to call me back with an update. The didn't.
I then ring again on the Monday and the same person says that again they still haven't received anything from RACV. There is now only 2 days to go, so I ring RACV to try and push them. I then find out that Bucket Panels hasn't completed any quote and RACV has never heard from them.
I ring Bucket Panels (again!) and confront them with the facts. The are very polite, but cut me off and say "Leave it with me". I never hear anything from them again.
I must admit I am somewhat disappointed in Bucket Panels as an RACV preferred repairer. I appreciate that they may be busy with the amount of hail repairs they have received, but that still does not warrant the lack of commitment and communication I have experienced.
Save to say I am finding another repairer that can be trusted.
