This mechanic was disorganised, couldn't ever give me a final price and took weeks to give the car back despite calls every 2nd day. They did however do quite a lot of labour that wasn't charged (maybe took pity on me). Seem to do a lot of work for local car yards and takes on customers without having the time to match the work load. Maybe they're one to get a cheap quote from to give to your preferred mechanic or to use if you're not pressed for time.

Since the new management had taken over about 2 years ago at a completely different address in Somerville Road they seem to care about their customers and go above and beyond to ensure their customers are happy. They have now moved to 5 Kent Street, Yarraville VIC 3013.

I do not recommned using this mechanic. Without telling us prior he tried to charge us a storage fee of $15 a day whilst it was in his possesion. Although this may not be unreasonable, we were not ever told of this fee prior and with the engine not working we had no means by which to remove the vehicle. It was sent there initially to have a blown head gasket replaced (quoted a couple of hunderd dollars) but ended up needing a new engine due to other issues. Given the car was only worth $2-3K we didn't wish to spend the money. The owner of the business offered to buy the car for far less than its scrap value and was advised that a wrecker would be around to pick it up the following day. It was only after we sold it to a wrecker and went it to pay our invoice for looking at the car ($80 odd dollars) that they then tried to charge us nearly $300.

This was under the old management; since the new management have taken over they seem to really care about their customers. I would recommend them to everyone I know.
