Upon entering this cosy restaurant in Leichhardt, you feel as though you've stepped straight into a warm and welcoming home in Italy. There are lace table cloths and vintage wine bottles scattered around the room and the Italian mumma to greet you at the door. The authentic experience at Buona Sera continues with generously portioned home style meals and a wide selection of dishes to choose from. The wine list, which is put together with old wine bottle labels for extra guidance, has both local and Italian drops.

I was highly disappointed in this restaurant. The food was bland and overcooked, and the staff working there didn't seem to care about the patrons. The entrees are very large and enough for a main meal, but I found it very difficult to eat my meal. It was a shame, because the restaurant has a very homey feel to it.

From the outside it looks like a cozy, authentic Italian restaurant. Looks can be deceiving though. Inside keeps that authentic vibe but it's kind of dank. Ordered a simple pasta and found it crunchy. Upon closer inspection there was some sort of rock or plaster in there. We pointed this out to the staff who to their credit didn't charge us for the meal and were very apologetic. Still not really keen to visit again.
