I went to Cafe Citrus today for lunch with the girls... we should have left after we all received flat drinks. When we said something to the staff they said it was their ice that made it flat, we had soft drinks & my sister an iced tea. My sister asked what sort of iced tea they had been given & they said we pour syrup into a glass & then add waters to it... They too then asked for a soft drink. The replacement drinks were exactly the same!!! I told the staff it was the same & they rolled their eyes & just looked at me. I then went to the shop across the road & purchased cans of drinks for all!!! We all ordered medium steak that were very well done, no mushroom sauce as ordered, brown chips that were over cooked & just filled with oil. Lastly the salad had no dressing. We were not even asked how our meals were. We paid & went to another restaurant for desert & coffee. DO NOT EAT THERE!!! -

I visited this cafe for my cousin's baby shower afternoon tea. I was very dissappointed about the lack of care shown to me with regard to my food allergy. I cannot eat egg, and when I asked a staff for information about what items on the menu would be suitable for me to eat I was told, "My manager is not here, so I do not have the information about the ingredients in our menu items." It wasn't so much that I couldn't eat anything on their menu, but the lack of care that upset me. I had a cup of tea and left with a very hungry stomach. -

One of my favourite places to just sit and drink good coffee and admire beautiful bulimba. I think its always a shame that only the few people who have bad experiences tend to write online. I love this place, cheap coffee, plenty of choice, and polite staff. Give it a go! :-) -

I was really unimpressed with the service I received this morning.
It's Good Friday and Citrus was the only cafe open in Bulimba and we were told because it was a table of 9 that we had to book, so we did.
We were sitting there for half an hour before someone came to take our order and that was only because we asked them to, no drink orders or anything had been taken. Then the food came out, there was about a quarter of an eggshell in my Benedict, and 35 minutes after our orders were taken our coffee's came out, several of them were incorrect but we took them anyway because we were tired of waiting.
I work in hospitality, have for 7 years and that was not acceptable. It doesn't take that long to make coffee, they weren't even very busy when we came, because we were there fairly early; maybe hire a new barista?
We told them how long we had been waiting and they didn't seem to care and when we asked to be served the response wasn't very helpful.
Very disappointing service. -

Now this is great! Thanks Cafe Citrus! $3.00 for a cup of fantastic coffee. I hear the owner has his own roast speacially made through Aromas. No wonder it's so good! This now gives me even more reason to have breakfast there.... Love The "Big Breakfast" $15.00 and WOW -

Hello All, What terrible day it was today. Went there with a mate to have Breakfast, at about 9-9.10am. we ordered Canadian Breakfast & Pancakes. Our order was taken at the same time as table 3 to which at least on item was the same. They got theirs about 30 minutes later, I asked about ours, was told large table in back placed first, When I queried that we ordered same time as table 3, no response. THEN! the table beside us which sat down 15-20 minutes after us was then served, (FULL MEALS) this was the last straw, time to leave. Friend went and paid for coffess & complained we had been waiting 40 minutes, and told them about the next table, to which the staff member replied NOT POSSIBLE! Geez should not have had to pay for anything, I just wanted to get up and leave.... -

Just heard that Brisbane City Council Envrionmeental Health officers have just very recently awarded Cafe Citrus with a 4 STAR our of 5 possible at the Eat Safe Brisbane initiative. Well Done! A true sign of commitment by all, management and staff alike. I am not surprised at all as I have always had a great experience there, but knowing this know makes it even more enjoyable to have a meal there. -

We love the place. We have patronised the place on many occasion now over the past years and find the staff very friendly and helpful. Nothing seems ever too hard.The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and we love sitting inside in the corner next to the window. The menu is huge and the meals are good in size. The desserts and soooo moreish and without any question has the best coffee. I don't know, when ever we go there, it seems that everybody else had the same idea.
