CAFE Envy, a simple and unpretentious eatery at Cotton Tree on the Sunshine Coast, has an eclectic feel, puzzling service system and tasty food.
The decor has an eclectic feel with timber and wrought-iron chairs, couches and coffee tables, and pictures by Coast artists.
Outside, plastic tables and chairs are on a small deck area covered by awnings.
The place was buzzing with people on our Sunday morning visit and a waiter had to clear a table so we had somewhere to sit.
Envy is open for breakfast and lunch, and the menus for both are quite basic.
For lunch you can choose from home-made quiches and filos, open grills, sandwiches, salads and gourmet burgers. For breakfast, there are options such as Coco Pops and Weet-Bix, alongside typical bacon-and-eggs and "the big breakfast". The meals are at the upper end of cafe prices, but the serving sizes are generous.
For breakfast we chose the Envy's benedict and the corn fritters.
