This cool cafe on Abercrombie Street has an old school diner feel to it and an absolutely huge menu! I always (always!) have trouble deciding what I want when I go here and spend far too long gazing confusedly up at the blackboard at all the various, hearty treats on offer. I am mad on the omelette here, the one with fetta and the split pea soup and white bean soup are also great in the winter. The rosemary chips are also so addictive, I could just order a bowl of those and be completely satisfied. The breakfast is satisfying, Ive had the scrambled eggs with mushrooms and spinach and have really enjoyed it. The coffee is pretty good and the staff are friendly. We usually go here in groups from work but the service is always quick no matter what size our group is. The only down-side is that, depending on where youre sitting, it can get pretty hot in here in the summer because of the proximity of seating to the kitchen area and lack of a through-breeze but its not enough to put me off going.

This is a cool, relaxed place in Chippendale and popular for breakfast, lunch and coffee with people who work close by. It's a very chilled out set-up, with a cute little courtyard out the back and bench seats at the window at the front. In between, there are tables of various sizes and you may have to share on busy days, but it all adds to the relaxed vibe. Its always bustling and busy, and though the food's pretty standard cafe fare, I think the reason it's so popular is that it's really well-priced for what you get. Getting a toasted sandwich and a coffee for not much more than a fiver is pretty unheard of, and especially in a buzzy, a bit cool and fashionable spot like this its a bargain. Again, the food's nothing special but it's a good option if you happen to be in the area.

It's a staple and has been for years. I weeped wen the SMH reviewed this place cause I knew the crowds and the fly ins would make the place intolerable. But it's still good on a weekday, weekends are a nightmare.

Cafe Giulia, a place i often went and enjoyed, crossed a horrific boundary. First, the queue was massive (as per usual), however, the people in front of me had massive dietary issues and took between 5-10 minutes to order, because of them questioning roughly every dish on the menu I forgot what my friend wanted so quickly called them. The lady behind the till then yells at me for holding up the queue and tells me I should get out of line...it was the rudest thing ever seeing as she hadn't even given me time to open my mouth to order. After finally be allowed to order, I got my food. I opened the bagel to find a FLY grilled into the haloumi. I took it back. The second one comes out...it was different (because it was less soggy than the original) I opened this one to find MORE FLIES COOKED INTO THE FOOD. When I went back to tell them again they seemed annoyed I didn't want to eat their fly food. I was disgusted and put off so I wandered across the street...if you are pondering going here don't. The Cafe across the street is super friendly and bug free.

The best cafe in Sydney! Definitely not to be missed. I've worked my way through the entire menu and have never been disappointed. Some highlights if i must mention include home made beans, hash brown, Bagel, Burgers, Poached Eggs and more...The staff and owner are amazing friendly guys that just make the food the more special.

I can't start my day without having one of their delicious coffees. The service is quick as fast food, however the food is deluxe. Sometimes you want to wait, just to catch up in Sydney's happenings by checking out the latest posters and gig guides. Very cool.
