I have eaten and had coffee's here a number of times but sadly today's visit was my last. The ordered Thai fish cakes were tiny though I am not a big eater. Couple this with no apparent customer focus has earned them a no repeat status.
This is a sleepy little cafe, literally. The service is as if the staff are asleep. The cafe itself is nicely presented but the service was so poor that the experience left a bad taste in my mouth.
We ordered burgers (at $20 each!) and after waiting 40 minutes and watching the chef rearranging the furniture we questioned how long it would be till our food came. At this point we could hear that they began cooking our food and were told that the food was on the way. All the while there is only about one or two other tables being serviced (thank the lord it wasn't busy) and a senior staff member was standing at the front counter blabbing loudly to other staff. When the food came it was okay but our burgers were actually open grills. We were also not even offered a glass and water and watched while another table that entered after us were.
I don't know how they can survive with that kind of service, but we won't be going back.
Four years ago this was a great cafe to eat and hang out in. Three weeks ago I made the mistake of revisiting it. I ordered beef lasagne with salad and fries. When it arrived after an hour (along with the tepid water) the salad consisted of gloop with croutons the size of golf balls, and the lasagne had no beef - well actually when I took it back they foiund a miniscule peice of beef, perhaps the size of a small garden pea. To add insult to injury another couple who were waiting a long time were offered an apology and free garlic bread - hmmmm.. one ponders they must have been regulars... but why on earth would anyone want to return there? Note that they still display the (good) review from the Courier Mail - received years ago by the previous owners. Lift your game people.
