Most terrible service and experience we have had at a cafe in awhile. We arrived just after their breakfast menu closed (unbeknownst to us) yet they seated us with breakfast menus. Once the staff arrived to take our order, which was like 10 minutes later, they were rude, told us we couldn't order anything from the breakfast menu, they were busy, they were out of everything (even bread it seems). We made an order for two coffees which took forever and then were terrible while we watched them set up a reserved table for 4 next to us with lunch menus - which we were never offered! Terrible value for the menu which is overpriced to begin with and ambiance doesn't make up for it.
Don't go unless you like being served by rude staff and paying too much for it.
How does a restaurant run out of bread, even for toast? And why not offer us a lunch menu instead of telling us you're out of everything while you're setting up a table with lunch! Unbelieveable and inexcuseable.
This cafe has a lovely setting, but unfortunately, the three or four times we have been there have been terrible, thanks to the worst service we've ever had anyywhere. Previously, service had been haphazard, but the last time we went, we sat and sat, waiting for someone to take our order, with people being served all around us, but when finally someone did come over, we were told the kitchen had just closed. This was at around 2 oclock on a Sunday, with people all about. Being in a National Park, I don't think they would be doing much business through the week, so wouldn't you want to capitalise on weekend trade?
The kitchen always seems chaotic. I don't think we will give them another try, which is a shame, since we love the bushwalks there, and it would be nice to have somewhere to have lunch and afternoon tea. Oh well, perhaps it will be taken over by someone who knows what they are doing.
