Cafe Sweethearts is one of my favourite places to go for breakfast. A cute little cafe in South Melbourne that is extremely busy on weekends and bustling during the week. Of course this can only mean one thing! The food must be great! For first-timers I highly recommend the pancakes. The banana is my fave and although I know it will be trumped by the chocolate, I haven't been game enough to completely surrender my thighs just yet. I've also sampled many of the egg varieties - and varieties there are, and I can safely say you won't be disappointed. Very reasonably priced with heaps of options, Cafe Sweethearts also caters for a lunch time crowd and is open til 3pm daily.
They're breakfast specialists but the lunch specials we had there were pretty good too. Quaint little cafe in a nice setting, loved it straight away when I went there to meet a friend and apparently so do the locals! Staff were friendly and helpful.
Always very popular and highly regarded, but i do not think they are the best on coventry street. Hard to get a table on weekends and the staff always seem rushed and not as friendly as their neighbours. However the eggs and pancakes are very good.
