Having my own business I know the importance of a good review so when impressed I like to take the time to write one and Sydney Cafe did impress me. Even though I am an out of towner I travel to Sydney often so am happy to support the local business`s. Sydney Cafe was impressive with food, service, atmosphere and most of all if you get the right table, as I did the view.

What a view, great location, food was very nice. Service was a bit slow but to their credit it was a very busy day. Will be back.

Came to cafe Sydney on a Wednesday for lunch and all i can say is that my faith has been restored in fine dining. This place was awesome. We were seated outside so there were beautiful views of the harbor and thankfully the weather was very nice.

The food was very flavorsome and filling at the same time. For an entree i got the Grilled baby octopus, chorizo, braised octopus. This was not only tasty but it was very artistically placed on the plate. My girlfriend received the Crumbed crab cake, grilled prawn. I am not really a fan of crab cakes but this was pretty tasty.

For main i ordered the Crispy twice cooked pork belly, prosciutto wrapped pork fillet, apple and celeriac remoulade. This was absolutely life changing the pork fillet was mouth wateringly juicy and that filled me up to the brink ( which is pretty good for a fine dine restaurant given the portion sizes) my girlfriend got the Roasted lamb loin and cutlet, braised lamb and fetta cigar, caponata, jus. I had a couple of nibbles at this and that too was divine the lamb was exactly how i like it and literally melts in your mouth.

Now being pretty full already we could not leave without dessert and i am glad we got it we both received the Dark chocolate terrine with strawberry sorbet and the fried banana with a peanut butter cake with chocolate ice cream. This was a massive highlight as well it was not too sickly sweet it was just perfect.

Overall this was a very pleasant experience that was worth every cent i had read previous reviews about the staff being bad but on this occasion our waitress was a pleasure to deal with.

I will definitely be back and i would happily recommend cafe Sydney to anyone

My Partner and I had a meal here Friday of last week. It was not what I expected it to be. The reviews read, food was nice and some people said food was great, but staff were rude. Well for us this could have not been further from the truth. We found all of them very polite and most helpful. It is this reason and the location that would persuade us to come back.

I ordered the Moreton Bay bugs as an appetiser and my partnered order the seared scallops. I will sum it up for you in one word, bland. We ordered the seafood platter for two, as our main. We started with the oysters, which were small and little flavour if any, the bugs (normally my favourite) left a lot to be desired and for us it was just all round disappointing.

In the end when the dessert menu was given to us, it just summed up the night, over priced ordinary food. We opted to not have dessert (which was disappointing for me as I love my sweets) but for $22 each a dish. It felt like I could go to a local bistro and order the same thing with probably the same taste for a third of the price.

Just had a great Sunday lunch at Cafe Sydney. Shame it was raining as missed out on the views from the outside eating area, but still breathtaking. The food was superb. Light, interesting combos and delicious. Highly recommended.

One of Sydneys gems. If you want to dine in style, go to Caf Sydney. Set on the fifth floor at Circular Quay with sweeping Harbour Bridge and Opera House views, you walk in to a modern dark mahogany setting with the waiting staff all having ear pieces for premium customer service. On some occasions there will be a string quartet playing light music for customers which helps to complete the elegant setting. Once seated you will have your own waiter who will be very attentive to your every need and make sure your glass is always full. The scallops are a popular entre choice, as is the Pea Soup or the Moreton Bay Bugs. For mains the twice cooked pork belly is to die for. Other items I have had and enjoyed include the de-boned Spatchcock and the WA Barramundi. Whatever you choose, you are bound to be delighted as this truly is a 5 star restaurant fit for a King.
