More like an upmarket car boot sale, the Camberwell market gives everyone the opportunity to purge their inner hoarder and make a buck out of preloved goods. Someone elses trash can literally be anothers treasure as market goers fossick for that hidden vintage gem, fashion statement, book, household item or ornament. Proceeds from stall holder fees are distributed by the local Rotary club to charity.
THE place to bag a bargain. Got to arrive early though as antique store owners rise way before you do and snaffle anything worth snaffling - i would bet as stallholders are driving in the gate some days. Good thing about this place is that there's always something new to find and the stalls turn over. Nothing beats munching hot jam donuts and guzzling coffee in the fog while negotiating an art deco set of drawers down to $30.
