Had a great night here - we ate from the Tapas menu. Our waiter Bryan S, he was superb! Friendly service and yummy food! Lovely outside dining and thanks Bryan for that yummy muddled Frangelico cocktail!

The gorgeous beachfront location, the attractive street side alfresco decor and furniture and a big sign topped with an Australia (the movie) logo saying Baz, Nicole and Keith ate here shouldnt you? promised so much but unfortunately failed to live up to expectations. First glance at the menu screamed try hard with the usual meat, seafood or chicken options accompanied by things that were supposed to make you go wow but it was quite obvious that the Chef had stopped developing his style quite some time back as this menu was so 5 years ago. The Barramundi fillet special sounded the most inspired option but I opted for the organic chicken breast stuffed with brie and sundried tomatoes accompanied by a vegetable stack and pesto risotto. Now that is way too many flavours for one plate of food but I soon understood that this dish needed the extra punch because the chicken was so bland. The wine list was simply uninspiring but a glass of the Wine of the Month SSB was refreshing enough. The service was adequate but certainly not polished enough for the perceived standard of this restaurant except for one waitperson who arrived at our table to correct a problem with one of our dishes and did it with great professionalism and deserves to be complimented. The coffee was ok. Verdict, I wouldnt go back again unless someone convinced me that the menu and the Chef had been updated. The location and views are beautiful.

Airlie Beach doesn't rate well in terms of food, coffee and service - so if you want any of these - head to Capers first. The coffee is the best you will find in the town and the Potato Rosti is one of the best vegetarian meals around. Be warned - breakfast closes at 11am and lunch doesn't start until 12 noon.
