DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I requested my air conditioning to be checked and repaired. Booked in, collected my car, paid $210 and Air Con didn't even work. I took it back, they said it was my fault. I booked it in again and they told me it was the pump and ordered it. I repeatedly asked how much that would cost...They kept telling me that they didn't know. They had ordered it from overseas so I would say they would definitely know how much the part cost! They put it in and then rang and told me it was something else. I said I wanted to know how much the rest would cost and told them clearly that I just wanted a price to fix the rest as by this stage I had enough of their running around and delay! This had already taken 2mths to do this and over the hot summer, my kids and I missed out on going away on my weeks leave because they weren't able to fix it yet when I went in, they said the part had arrived 3 weeks earlier!!! I booked the car in to get the pump put in (seeing as it was ordered) and to give me a price on the rest. Would you believe that I got a call at the end of the day to say the car was ready and fixed and would cost another $1600. Unreal. I asked them what cost so much, They were rude in reading out the list then hung up on me. I went in the early the next morning, waited for 30 mins to see them yet as soon as they came they told me to pick the car up or leave it and they wouldn't talk any further. They walked out of the office without another word. SO RUDE!!
Not only that, in the last week I picked up my car it wasn't even in the yard when we arrived. I asked where it was, was told that they were probably picking up a customer.
The service from this business is bad. Having checked on other repair businesses, they said they couldn't act like that otherwise they would lose customers. I will write a negative review forever on this business, I have found them disgusting and pricey (I have since received two quotes that are at least $600 less).
SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE AND DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!

If you live in this area and need affordability, honest, hard working mechanics to do a job for you and walk you through the entire process of your mechanical needs, then look NO FURTHER. I would recommend this place to anyone and strongly encourage you to give this place a go. Never had any problem with them and looking forward to doing services with them in the future.

Cannot recommend high enough. I don't trust people with my car but these guys were fantastic. My car has been running so much better. Thanks :)

We would like to thank the whole team at Cardinia auto!
We had recently relocated to Pakenham from interstate and had no idea where to get both our cars serviced and repaired. After receiving many overpriced quotes, we came to Cardinia auto..thankfully!!
We received excellent service at a low cost and both cars have had no troubles since.
We are more than happy to recommend the boys down at Cardinia thanks guys, glad we have found an honest and reliable mechanic.

Eureka! I've found him again! I had trouble with my car so I called RACV they came and said I needed a tow truck. My car was towed with me to their local RACV repairer place. A couple of minutes later they "Diagnosed" the problem the crank angle sensor (what ever that is) had stopped working they said it would be no problem to fix and I'd have my car back in a couple of hours but it would cost a bit. I nearly fainted when told how much and decided to get a second opinion. Well! Lucky I did I googled mechanics in pakenham since that's where I was and found that there was a place called CARS (Cardinia Automotive) just around the corner since my car was not able to be driven I called them and spoke to Andrew he asked me a few questions about my car and sounded like he knew what he was talking about so I followed his instructions about how to get the car to start (he said it might work) by chance it did, so I drove down to him. Then as soon as I got to his workshop and saw Andrew I new I was going to be looked after, (Andrew had been my mechanic years ago in Mulgrave) but I lost him cause I moved interstate and he had gone when I came back to Melbourne about a month ago.I live in Emerald now but it's worth the drive plus Pakenham is not that far away. It's all good now I've found him again and I'll be sticking with him for now on he's the most honest mechanic I've dealt with so I'm glad I went for a second opinion plus it wasn't the crank angle sensor that had broken (and yes apparently cars do have them) it was my starter motor that was faulty. It's fixed now so thanks to Andrew from CARS my car is all good now. I recommend you give Andrew from CARS a call if you have car trouble. Thanks Andrew your a gem.

Stay away from this place! Took our car in for a "major service" a few weeks ago. When I called up and asked how much it would cost for a major service they first asked me for some details about the car, then said it would cost between $280 - $300. So I booked it in.
When I dropped off the car in the morning there was a staff working there alone. I told staff that I also had a punctured tyre in the boot that I wanted fixed up. The punctured tyre was from the rear-left of the car, and a spare tyre was in its place at the time.
The staff wrote this down and said will tell the mechanic. Also said the car would be ready on the same day and that they'd give me a call once it's ready so that I can pick it up.
It gets to 30mins before they close, and I still haven't heard anything back from them so I decided to give them a call. They tell me that the car's ready to be picked up (so why didn't they call me?).
When I show up to get the car they tried to give me a bill of over $500. Obviously I was not impressed considering this was over $200 more than what I was originally told and when I questioned it the staff looked again at my bill and said "Oh hang on, we charged you too much labour." So they brought it down to about $450. I asked them why it was so much more expensive then what I was originally told and they said it was because they had to replace the spark plugs with an "expensive type" due to the model of my car. The spark plugs were just under $30 each for 4 of them, so that added just under $120 to the bill. The car's just a standard sedan, why did it need such expensive spark plugs? Not to mention the car's not even on 100k yet.
Unfortunately I didn't know anything about spark plugs at the time and I'm only now starting to find some answers on the net!
Now about the punctured tyre. They didn't even touch the tyre that was in the boot (which was the one I asked to be fixed), but instead they "fixed" the spare tyre that I had on the rear-left of the car. I had been driving on this spare for over 2 months without any issues or air leaking so what exactly did they "fix"? I managed to get this taken off the bill. So that brought it down by about $30.
So in the end I paid about $150 more than I was originally told. Otherwise I would have paid about another $100 on top of that.
About a week after this, I noticed a light on the dash coming on when I use the brakes. So checked under the hood and found all the brake fluid had spilled all over the engine bay because the lid was not put on properly.
Today I rang them up to ask about this and they said they don't change the brake fluid unless it needs it. Same with the coolant, and other fluids, so they didn't change any of that on my car. So what exactly is the point of a "major service"? All I got done was the oil, wipers and filters changed. Oh and the spark plugs just to throw the price up by $130. That's apparently a "major service".

Took our older car here for a roadworthy check as we were looking to sell it. Cost $200 for the check, not the cheapest in the area, but thought I'd give them a go. The first thing they said without even looking at the car was "9 times out of 10 it will need a new windscreen - so it will need a new one of those". As a reasonable bloke, I let them say what they thought but didnt think it would need one, and i left the keys with them. 7 hours later calls me back with the report. Over $1000 of repairs needed. New windscreen- surprise. 4 tyres and a new rim. New muffler. An oil leak magically appeared. An odometer, because the old one stopped working. After investigating this later, the odometer is not a roadworthy issue. They also told me to call wreckers to find the part and go get it myself because they didn't want to. From what was considered a reasonable car, this seemed wrong. Prior to leaving the car at Cardinia Automotive, a mechanic friend of ours (although not a current roadworthy certified mechanic) had checked the car and said total $450 maybe. Did not need a new windscreen, or muffler, or all 4 tyres, or oil leak fix (because there wasn't one). Or odometer.
I told Cardinia automotive that because we were selling the car for $1800, doing $1000 of repairs was not worth our while.
Two weeks later we found a roadworthy mechanic who specialises in our type of car. Did check for $170. Came back with a report for $450 of repairs. No windscreen. No muffler. Only two tyres. No odometer. No oil leak. Did all the repairs no problems. Sold the car.
Their office was a mess. Overall presentation of the building suggests they dont really care. I won't be going back. Obviously. Suggest you don't either.

Found these guys a year ago and have been great. The most honest and well priced mechanics in pakenham, helping me with roadworthy, services, simple advice and they also offer roadside assistance if you're not in the RACV. Been to quite a few mechanics in the area, however i havn't had any trouble trusting Joe and Andrew at all with my car.

Great service and prices! I purchased a car from interstate and needed to get it roadworthy so that I could tranfer it over. I took it in to Jo and told him what I needed, he was great and even arranged a lift to the train staion for me (which was great since they are a few Kms from town) Long story short it took a few go's to get everything it needed done but at every stage Jo called and kept me up to date on what was going on and shopped around for the best prices on parts for me. Parts for my model of car can be very expensive indeed and Jo did a fantastic job with everything. It is nice to find a genuine and honest mechanic and I will be sticking with him from now on. I highly recomend him to everyone, call him for quote and I bet you will be as happy as I am !
