I recently returned an audio amplifier to the shop for repair. The staff I spoke to said they needed to send it to Sydney but the turn around was usually quite quick. They said I would receive a phone call during the week regarding the progress.
I waited a week. No response. I waited another week. Again no response. Tired of waiting, I rang them to find out what was going on. Unbelievably, they hadn't even sent it yet! They said they were just too busy(!!). They said they would send it that day. I found it hard to believe that they suddenly had time after I called so I suspect they actually just forgot aboput it and didn't want to admit it.
I wasn't happy and questioned why I wasn't informed about the delay. They simply said that 'it happens' and pretty much dismissed whatever I said.
Wanting to be taken seriously, I went to the website and e-mailed the company. Of course, no response.
The next week I did receive a call from them but it was only because they wanted to know if I wanted to go ahead with the qoute for repair. I asked the staff if they seen the e-mail I sent. The conversation went something like:
"I sent an e-mail. Did you get it?"
"No."
"I sent it to the e-mail address listed on the website. Where do those emails go?"
"They go to a computer here."
"Well. Does anybody read them?"
"In *theory* somebody reads them."
""Doesn't anybody respond to those emails?"
Obviously I was wasting my breath with this staff as well. Its not just the fact they didn't send my item for repair, they didn't even bother responding to my complaint. They just couldn't care less basically. The more I argued the more they argued. No apology.
Very dissapointing from a place that you'd think would need to provide good customer service. Theirs was terrible.
I'm very sorry this chap had a bad experience. We are aware of this incident. He fell through the cracks I'm afraid and it can be very dificult servicing out of house equipment. We gave the gentleman the best posiible discount on his repair ... apparently insufficient to mollify him ...

If you are after 'high end' audio equipment, don't go passed these guys. Personable and knowledgeable, they are a small shop who are glad to spend time with you and present to you exactly what you want, not want they want to sell you.
