    I had always been interested in the concept of Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture, but never been in an actually tried anywhere like this before.

    After a pretty stressful, busy few months at work, I felt depleted, deficient, a bit emotional, stressed, mildly anxious, easily irritated, my skin was playing up, getting headaches, just not quite right. All really vague symptoms.. I knew that it was nothing an orthodox doctor would take too seriously so last week I found this clinic via google, was impressed with his qualifications and experience so thought I might as well give it a go!

    I believe he is moving office in the coming months but the location was a bit strange and I had a little trouble locating the stairwell tucked behind the joy garden Chinese restaurant on my first visit.

    Once I got up to his office we did an initial consultation which involved things like him feeling my pulse, looking at my tongue, eyes, nails. I explained my vague symptoms and unlike a regular GP he actually seemed to take all of these on board as serious concerns. Then came the acupuncture - I got little needles in my back, neck, head, face, hands, wrists and feet (some kind of hurt but most actually felt ok!) while he explained that I had a heat energy imbalance with some toxicity issues. I got to lay back with little pins sticking out of me, and relax for about 20 mins while he mixed up my herbal prescription.

    For the week I have 2 herbal tablets and some powder to drink twice a day, and although it was pretty gross at first, after almost a week I'm actually finding I don't mind the taste so much anymore. I've been back for another session of acupuncture (2 times a week is recommended) and I'm feeling really good, much calmer and more level, calmer, my skin has cleared up, no headaches! I normally get quite bad period pain and rely heavily on naprogesic and have just had a totally pain free week for the first time EVER which was unexpected and I can't think of anything else I could have done to affect this except this treatment!
    I have 3rd session tomorrow, more acupuncture and herbal. pretty pleased with my outcomes so far.
