A Fresh Approach to Thai 

Chedi Restaurant offers contemporary Thai dining; combining classical Thai cuisine with a fresh approach. Our aim is three fold; good Thai food, genuine Thai service and affordable prices.

At Chedi Thai Restaurant we cater for large groups and functions or private dinners for two. Our seating plan can be arranged to suit parties or individuals and we are delighted to welcome family groups and kids of all ages to experience Thai food.

    My boyfriend and I walked passed late afternoon to pick up takeaway for dinner and was about to try the next Thai restaurant as it was closed. The lady inside quickly ran to the door to invite us in. She was so lovely, she took our order and offered us a free drink. Prices were very reasonable and the restaurant and little garden looked nice. I would be happy to return again to dine in and try some of the other dishes people have enjoyed in the previous reviews

    I have been back to Chedi Thai in Newtown, many times and am never disappointed. Great Thai food and service. There are so many Thai restaurants in Sydney and especially along King Street in Newtown, but Chedi is the standout. Try their Curry Puffs and Money Bags. If you are eating healthy order Seasonal Vegetables with Silken Tofu and Brown Rice.

    Nice cosy restaurant with great service and a delicious menu of dishes. I enjoy the mix of herbs and spices used in Thai salads and always order spicy beef salad. Chedi has the best I have tried in Sydney. I always go to Chedi with a big group of Brazilian friends and we are never disappointed.

    Newtown is such a fun place to eat; loads of great restaurants and no trouble makers to spoil the night out. My favourite cuisine is Thai and Chedi Thai is my first choice on King Street. Every ingredient is so fresh and the dishes are not loaded with sugar. The balance of spice is perfect and service is always cheerful.

    Have had several brilliant meals at Chedi Thai. The staff are always accomodating and seem focused on recreating the authentic Thai flavours you won't get at many Sydney restaurants. The service has always been great, probably the best Thai restaurant in Sydney for all around quality and value.

    My girlfriend and I went to chedi on a friday night a few weeks ago and was amazed at the quality of food and service from this thai restaurant in Newtown. Most of the the dishes that came out looked awesome, and i bet they tasted as good as they looked. We had the chilli basil seafood and red curry with vegetables which was splendid. The service is great and would really recommend it to everyone.

    I visited Chedi Restaurant with a large group of 40 people from Sydney Uni on a Wednesday night. We had a banquet option for $35 per head. A great selection of dishes and vegetarian options to accommodate the vegans in our group. Service was excellent and the section of the restaurant where we were seated was like being in a private room without the walls. This restaurant is regularly visited by the staff at the uni and I can understand why. The most impressive restaurant I have been to in Newtown.

    I visited the Chedi restaurant under recommendation and was absolutely blown away. The food here is traditional Thai without the Westernization, it was fresh and fabulous. I can highly recommend the Fish Souffle entree, it is seriously melt in your mouth delicious. I also had a chicken dish which I don't believe was on the menu but recommended by the hostess and that to was amazing. I loved it and will be back there as soon as I can. See you there!

    Been here a few times, and always find the food to be excellent and the best value in town. The owner and staff are so friendly it makes it even more of a pleasure to eat here.
