Chianti looks as if it has been in this heritage-listed building forever, its traditions carefully honed over decades. The food is well-priced, interesting and nearly always well prepared - look for dishes such as the grilled quail on roasted polenta with Treviso radicchio, the fruitti di mare soffocato or a properly prepared bollito misto.. Some dishes never move from the menu - such as deep-fried zucchini flowers filled with ricotta, slow-cooked rabbit with pancetta and onions, and the Florentine-style steak.

One of Adelaide's absolute greats. Not living in Adelaide leaves me with pangs of discomfort knowing I can't go here whenever I want. The brekkies and their coffees are something to write home about.
My utmost favourite memory and dish is the risotto nero con calamari - squid ink perfection! Not always on the menu, if it was - I may have not moved.
Long lunching is also a favourite past-time, the service is outstanding - prices on the more expensive side but you certainly get what you pay for here.
    Love.

Having heard about the breakfasts for years I finally made it. I was pleasantly surprised to walk in and see it set the same as for a lunch or dinner service. The service was excellent - plenty of staff and attentive service. An interesting breakfast menu - we had a hard time choosing. The food was delicious. Excellent coffee.

My absolute favourite restaurant in the whole world. Everything on the menu is mouth watering, and is always cooked and served beautifully. The service is great, the wine is fantastic, the atmosphere is great, and owner Maria is the perfect host. Absolutely perfect Italian fare done brilliantly.

Chianti is the place to go on Hutt street. Offering excellent modern Italian fare with great service - their waiters are always on hand to offer advice (and point out the pronunciations!!) - sometimes you can wait for main courses but then the place is always very busy so this is no surprise and good food sometimes take patience! Great choice of wines too. Great to entertain business guests.
