    GOLD Coast chef Daran Glasgow holds the customary passport of many of our best home-grown chefs and now teaming up as chef/owner of Chill.

    Young Aussie chefs go to London because they can legally work with some of the world's most influential names and, in most of the cases I've watched (and eaten examples of) over the years, it's an experience that adds finesse and consistency to an otherwise more simple culinary lexicon.

    Glasgow did his five-year stint before returning and defecting to the Gold Coast.

    He put Restaurant B on the map and then headed for the hills cooking at the beautifully tranquil spot of Songbirds in Mt Tamborine.

    He then tackled his ultimate dream as chef/owner ably aided by partner, Leesa Huth when they opened Chill on Tedder three years ago.

    Chill has always been known for its great food and attractive, casual ambience and this has been enhanced recently with an internal makeover.

    Dinner is intimate and cosy especially since the renovation of the main dining area but Sunday lunch on a sunny day is also great thing to do for yourself.
