I can't believe I hadn't visited this place sooner! Sister to my all-time favourite restaurant, China Doll, it's safe to assume the same high quality is maintained. The restaurant is tucked away in Angel Place so its a nice escape from the bustling George St and Martin Place. It's also a great place for a work lunch/business meetings as the chefs are trained to cook within the strict work time frames (without lowering their quality either). I loved the birdcages stung over the lane with the birdsong, pity it was too cold to eat outside and enjoy the ambiance of the lane. Very nice food,staff very helpful. excellent wontons and pancake rolls, though the crispy chicken was a bit uninspiring.Not cheap but thought it good value.
To most people, Angel Place is known as that small alley with lots of empty birdcages suspended above. And this was exactly my answer until a friend of mine took me to China Lane, located exactly where these birdcages are. China Lane is a high-end restaurant serving Asian fusion dishes.
