Highlights include the Chinese dragon display, 'Finding Gold' experience, artefacts from the gold fields and the heritage walk. The museum is currently closed for renovations but will reopen in September 2010.

Dai Loong and the Millennium Dragon, the largest Chinese dragon in the world, lay dormant in this historical building (when not on festive duties), alongside costumes, artefacts from the goldfields, ancient musical instruments, ceramics, bound-feet shoes and photographs depicting the journey of Chinese Australians from the gold rush era to the present.
