Have returned to Chowdhary this week to check consistency of food quality, given recent poor reviews! The food lived up expectations. Not a microwaved meal or rancid cheeseball in sight!. True, my companions and I were treated to our host's undivided attention - being the only patrons in the establishment (apart from those collecting takeaway orders), but hey it was the first day back at school - most conscientious parents were at home cleaning out lunchboxes and tucking their little angels into bed. Me? I was tucking into some very tasty beef Madras. Delightful! The mango chicken a little subdued in that there was no discernible mango flavour jumping out at me, but lovely and creamy nonetheless. Highly recommended: the samosas: 2 large pyramids of crispy dough encasing a fragrantly spiced filling. Also the aforementioned beef Madras.
Note to staff: spices not as robust as on my earlier visit, so keep it fresh and consistent and go easy on the raita: keep it simple and tangy! I'll be back soon.
Excellent, authentic Indian cuisine. The food is fragrant with freshly-prepared spices, making it tasty and more-ish. Will definitely return - regularly! If there was any downside, it would be that the beverages list is not accompanied by prices! This is minor, however and all one must do is ask - as the service is very friendly if not a little over-zealous! No matter, better that than the haughty arrogance one may experience in other establishments.
Chowdhary is definitely recommended over other Indian restaurants in the area.
