Chris Chamberlin

Chris Chamberlin is a classically trained baritone, currently in his third year of the Bachelor of Music program at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia. Here, he is a student of Jason Barry-Smith, and attends weekly masterclasses given by Lisa Gasteen. A performance major, Chris regularly performs in the Conservatorium opera productions, and will be performing the role of "Le Roi" in Cendrillon later this year.

For two years, Chris was a Creating Opera! Artist at Opera Queensland, in association with Backbone Youth Arts. During this time, he contributed to the creation and development of two full-length operas for the company - one of which was announced as part of Opera Queensland's 2009 Season. Dirty Apple made its world premi�¨re at the Brisbane Powerhouse Theatre in July 2009, achieving rave reviews with a total of seven performances as part of the Queensland Music Festival and Q150 celebrations.

Opera Queensland, The Queensland Orchestra (now Qld Symphony Orchestra), Opera Australia, Andrea Bocelli, Last Night of the Proms, the Southern Cross Soloists, Tina Arena, Michael Crawford, Dale Kristien, Greg Moore, and Simon Gallaher, among others.

Also, as a member of the Queensland Youth Choir in 2006, Chris was awarded the Vice President's Trophy for his performance of "Funicul�¬, Funicul� ".
