    Car broke down in Noarlunga shopping centre car park. Had RAA come out and he diagnosed the problem as a flat battery and it needing a new alternator. Next day head over to Christies Auto Electrical. Explained the problem to the mechanic, gave him the official note/diagnosis the RAA gent gave me to pass on, and hung around the area for about 3-4 hours while he inspected the car. He says he did the appropriate tests but "no the alternator seems ok. Can't find anything that seemed to cause the battery to die so I'll just replace your battery"... cuz he couldn't think of anything else he adds.

    Night of Christmas Eve, one week later. Stranded at shopping centre (once again) with a flat battery. Of course being Xmas Eve RAA is swamped with calls. Had my father-in-law jump the car and follow us home, car stopped every 500 metres or so. This is while it's running. Sure if the battery is dying it'll most likely stop while idling... but this was stopping while my foot was on the accelerator! A 15 minute trip took 40, and we had to catch a taxi an hour away for family xmas dinner that night (where my sister's boyfriend was proposing to her).

    And guess what the problem was?! The alternator of course!! But this is Christmas and no-ones open for another week. Highly highly upsetting experience, the problem should have been diagnosed and fixed on the same day but instead we got effed around and ended up losing the car during the busiest time of the year. Never will I ever go here again. Definitely not worthy of the RAA approval stamp.
