Even though I came with a Scoopon, the staff treated me the same as any other customer.

Although I thought I would've preferred not walking up a short flight of stairs to get my hair washed, the view of the street surprisingly kept me occupied during the hair treatment. It was a nice change from staring at walls or other customers, as experienced in most other hair salons.

Thoroughly impressed and happy with the cut + dye, so special thanks to Sora! I'll be considering booking my next appointment with her!

Hi Miss Mandy, you have already reviewed Christopher Hanna Hair, i don't think there is any need to review it twice!
Lucky for you that you obviously must work there or else your just a long time customer that they actually look after and do their job for.
The rest of us are not so lucky.

"I bought a Scoopon deal for a Keratin treatment for $150. I've had 4 other treatments before and have paid under $100 for them, but had heard the stylist was a good so i decided to pay the bit extra.

I arrived 5 minutes early and kind of just stood at the front desk untill someone came and told me to take a seat (there weren't any) so i stood for a further 10 minutes untill the hairdresser came and got me.

Anyway for those of you who know how a keratin treatment is supposed to work - this is what happened. My hair was shampooed twice. (I've always had it shampooed 3-4 times before having the treatment). Then my hair was blow dried twice without sectioning AT ALL, like how you blowdry hair when your 10 years old. My hair is very long also. So obviously it was still wet at the roots underneath and in the middle section at the back.
Anyway then the stylist put the treatment in. This is the worst bit - the stylist then blow dried without sectioning AGAIN and then STRAIGHTENED MY HAIR WHILE IT WAS STILL WET.

The ends of my hair and now burnt and I really cannot believe the terrible service i received. The keratin treatment will usually take about 3 hours. It only took 1.5 here - i guess thats why it also didn't work properly.

Avoid this hairdresser at all costs. Save your money, its not worth it and go somewhere better."

Rang up 3 days ago to make an appointment, the staff was extremely rude as if making this appointment was a waste of time. After finally confirming the time and date I was apprehensive whether this would be a good experience after the initial service was completely horrible.
Went in today to get my hair done, was completely ignored for the first 15 minutes that I arrived. When I was finally acknowledged they told me I didn't have an appointment. My details were in the computer but no appointment was made.
Can't say I'll be going there, ever.

I had a very similar experience a couple of weeks ago as well. First time they booked me in I called later in the week as I couldn't remember the time of the booking, the person I spoke to said my name wasn't even booked for that day, let alone at all! I then rebooked, and on the morning on the appointment I received a call from the salon saying the stylist couldn't come in today, we rebooked and then I called to confirm the time a few days before the appointment and the girl said that they had booked me in for an hour before the time we had initially arranged. They have since booked me in for the appropriate time which is this afternoon so fingers crossed the style/colour etc is better than the customer service... Will keep everyone posted!

Very very very happy with my keratin treatment! I used to have to spend 40 mins with my GHD in order to straighten my thick unruly/coarse hair, but after having the keratin treatment on Friday and washing it for the first time it now only takes 5 minutes to get the same (if not better) effect as before.

Antony (who did my hair) gave me the BEST head massage EVER while washing my hair before the treatment and was entertaining and fun to chat to.

My hair feels super smooth and soft and I know i will definitely be going back

Having never heard of Christopher Hanna before, I bought a Scoopon for a Keratin treatment. When I was googling how to get there, I happened upon this website and read the 2 negative reviews posted (at the time). I was beginning to regret taking a chance without a recommendation but didn't have any reason to ask for a refund.

I gave them the benefit of the doubt and have not regretted it for a moment. They were very friendly and helpful on the phone when I was booking and managed to squeeze me in quite soon. They knew even at the time that I booked that I was using a Scoopon but they didn't treat me any differently than a full paying customer. My stylist Clare was really friendly and lovely and we had a great chat during the 3 hrs it took for the treatment and haircut. In fact, she was probably the nicest, most genuine stylist I have been to in a very long time. It didn't feel like she was trying too hard to make conversation but it was just natural and not awkward in any way.

i normally read reviews but never write them. This is the first one I've ever done online but felt strongly enough to do it as I have had such a different experience to some of the other reviewers.

      Your lucky.
I bought the exact same voucher and read my review!
Worst experience of getting keratin treatment in my life! They straightened my hair when it was still wet! They also blow-dried it without even sectioning - and i have long hair. The ends are now burnt! It usually takes 3 hours for the treatment as well - i was at Christopher Hanna an hour and a half. Worst hairdressers and rudest, most, unprofessional staff EVER.

Very unprofessional salon. I went to get a Keratin Straightening treatment done and was told that it was fine to do foils and colour my hair before the straightening treatment.
After the colouring and straightening treatment I discovered that the staff (who had been working in the salon for only 2 weeks) had burnt my hair. It was a complete mess towards the ends - really dry and lifeless and all curled and shrivelled up in places like someone had put a match under it.
I was told by the management that the staff had used a styling iron that was too hot and held it for too long on my hair.

When I discovered the burnt hair I did not make a fuss and I was thanked by the management for not getting angry and being understanding towards the staff that made the mistake. I was offered a protein treatment to try repair the damage and a senior stylist attempted to cut the burnt bits of my hair out - trying to minimize the damage without resorting to cutting off much of my hair.
At the end of the cut I was told to leave the protein treatment in for at least 3 days and told to come back to get more hair cut off, if after washing the treatment out there were still areas of badly burnt/damaged hair.
Management's parting words were; 'Don't worry, we'll make sure you're looked after'

5 days later after washing my hair there were still large areas of burnt hair, so I had to go back to get more of my damaged hair cut off.
However after the same stylist cutting off the damaged hair tried to charge me - for cutting out hair that was burnt by the salon!
I turned to the salon management and reminded me how they promised to look after me after one of their staff members made the mistake and burnt my hair - and they looked at me blankly and said it was nothing to do with them, and I had to pay the salon's hair stylist directly this time.
The stylist was embarrassed and told me not to worry.

Beware of Christopher Hana's management -. To try and charge a customer to cut out hair that their salon burnt is ridiculous (and I'd paid for a haircut/colour and treatment in my original visit anyway)
Meanwhile it will be another 6 months before the remaining damaged hair grows and is cut out and then another 6-12 months before my hair grows to the length it was when I first walked into the Christopher Hana salon.
Avoid this place at all cost - even if you have a cheap voucher.

OMG! I had the keratin done there 2 weeks ago. And they straightened my hair while it was still wet! My hair is burnt on the bottoms as well, i went to another hairdresser who said to go back and tell them and they should cut and give me a treatment. I wouldn't trust them to cut my hair though after burning it. But i would like to get a treatment off them for the terrible experience and for wasting 2 years of my time growing my hair! I thought my experience was a one-off. I can't believe it has happened to someone else as well. Probably happens often.
The prices they charge for the service you recieve is unbelivable!
Wors hairdresser i have ever been to.

I've never been so disappointed with the service I've received in a hair salon as I was when I visited Christopher Hanna Hair (CHH) in Surry Hills in June 2011. Like some of the other reviews on this site, I hadn't visited CHH previously but decided to give them a try after purchasing a Cudo voucher for $79 (value of over $200 for half head of foils or colour, hair cut, blow dry and glass of bubbly.)

Not only were the staff inattentive but they failed to deliver on the Cudo offer - after a cursory glance at my hair, the stylist said they couldn't give me the half head of foils or colour because my hair was too long. They then suggested I pay an extra $90 for the full colour! As for the advertised glass of bubbly this failed to make an appearance likewise. I actually asked for a coffee (thinking morning was a bit early for a champers) and this went into the ether as well.

Group buying deals are actually a good way of attracting new clientele - one can trial a service at a reduced price and then decide if they want to return. However, I think CHH has failed to capitalise on this and, unless it improves dramatically, I think it will struggle to attract any type of following in Surry Hills where other hair salons offer exceptional service,

I went to Christopher Hanna Salon in Surry Hills with the Cudo.com voucher to the value of $ 290 for $ 79.00. I think that because they knew that I only paid $ 79, they couldn't be bothered with with me. Well that is the way they made me feel!!!

Staff were unfriendly, no communication and had the "not bothered attitude" because they thought that they will not see me again.Well I now live in the area and was actually looking around for a good salon and they got thumbs down from me and word of mouth speaks louder than any form of advertising.
To top it all, I had to go to another salon so that they can fix my hair. 'Please be careful next time when purchasing vouchers from the bulk shopping networks... read the fine print and make sure that there is backup for the poor service that their clients are offering.

    What a let down!!
