Well worth it to do your homework when it comes to moving. I would say this move recently with City Removal Group has been the best by far. Look I don't move every 6-12 months but I have moved a few times over the years and I was never brave enough to do it myself, I have also seen some very shonky removalists. I cannot compare City Removal Groups' removalists to the likes of these happy go lucky, shonky removalists. I experienced pure professionalism and due care with all of my furniture and other pieces

Cannot fault City Removal Group at all, I move regularly and have been through my fair share of removalists. I'm used to the hassle and chaos that can occur on and before the move date so this time I arranged to have my house packed by them a day before, for once I didn't have to do any running around looking for boxes or protective gear, the guys had plenty. The move day went as smoothly as possible as well, as I said I cant fault them in the slightest. I would move and will move with them again. -

Cheapest company when we were being quoted, only a small move to the next suburb but they finished the move in less than the expected time which I am so grateful for as we were on quite a tight budget. Thank you very much for the great and friendly staff in the office and the men who did the move. -

Very impressed with the level of care taken by the guys who moved us a couple of weeks ago, I don't usually write reviews but I believe the City Removal Group team deserve to be acknowledged for the great work. It was a big day for all involved but Harry and his team worked endlessly.
I have since recommended a few of my friends to them, I wish City Removal Group all the success in the world for now and in the future.

Would like to thank the staff who was very polite, helpful and professional over the phone, she waived the return trip fee and her customer service was tops. My only complaint is against the men i hired to help with the move from Blacktown to Quakers Hill. Booked truck on the 2.2.13, truck arrived 15mins early which i didn\'t mind, they started the move at 7.45am, they assessed the house and started loading the truck, they were loading the truck up fast which was great, i had to leave the house to pick up the keys from the real estate for the new house, i left home at 8.30am, picked up keys from the real estate, went to the new house and dropped off a full load of stuff and returned to the old house just after 9.30am, truck wasn\'t even half fulled, my husband told me that as soon as i left to pick up the keys for the new house, your men decided to work in slow mode and when they would load the truck, they would spend 10mins or more inside the truck doing who knows what, so i confronted your men and said whats taking so long, i need to be out of here ASAP, i have the owners of house coming at 10am, your men were like ok ok, so i left them to continue, i\'ve loaded up my kia carnival with another load of stuff, raced to the new house and back and your men is no where near finished. At this point, i am over it and ready to lose it at your men. I hired 3 men and a 8 tonne truck which would of fitted all of my furniture, the move should of taken 2-3hrs max. Then to top it off, one of the men said, we have to do 2 trips, i couldn\'t stop laughing. When the truck arrived to the new house around 10.30am, we told the driver to park the truck in the driveway and unload everything straight into the garage, they finished and hubby signed the paper work and the time was 11.35am. We paid your men 4hrs, total bill $545.60 when the work was finished before 4hrs. Your men then parked there truck acrossed the rd from our new house and sat there for 10mins and left at 11.45am, which would of been 4hrs. The reason why i booked for 3 men to make the move faster and smooth and the 8 tonne truck was huge and should of fitted all of my house hold goods. My hubby and i still had to race to the old house and pick up what ever was remaining, i had my husband, my daughter, a friend and our neighbour race over to help us cause your workers were working to slow. Very disgusted in the service provided, this was suppose to be stress free move instead it turned into a nightmare. Its really sad and very disappointing. -

So glad I chose these guys, Harry and his team did a great job moving me and my son last week and they were so very accepting of my sons disease (he has down syndrome) and made him laugh throughout the move. thank you SO much to a company who made a stressful day so enjoyable. -

Very bad experience!
I have a piano and told them clearly, so they sent me a 10t truck (the only one with a lift) and 3 man, they said it should be 4 but if I can help 3 is ok.
Before the move, I called them again to confirm I need the men experienced with move piano, also ask for a bottle of red wine they promised, they said it's ok.
On the moving day, when the 3 man came, they said the piano is too heavy and refused to move it. If they can tell me earlier, I can call someone else to do it, but it is too late, I called tens of piano removalists and most of them told me I should book 4 days in advance. The problem is that's the last day to keep the key and I should hot stay there any more! What can I do?
The worst thing is, they even didn't say sorry, they just told me if the boys said they can't move then they won't move it, that's it!
Luckily, the 3 men didn't say the bed is too heavy, the washing machine is too heavy, the refrigerater is too heavy, so I let them to move all the other staff to the new address.
After making tens of phone calls, finally I found one who can help me to move my piano on Sunday. That guy told me this happens every week! So if you have a piano, don't trust company like this one, just ask a dedicated piano removalist.
When the job was done, the driver insisted to charge me the fuel surcharge which should be over 20km, but mine is only 16km.
I complaint to fair trading and got the result today. City removal group will send me a bottle of red wine and will investigate the fuel surcharge but refused to compensate my extra piano removal fee. I know if the boys helped me to move my piano I will pay more money, but the money is not the most important point, they didn't keep their words and made me in a rush to find another company to move my piano, that's really a unhappy experience!
Waiting for the red wine and the fuel surcharge refund...
If you don't have a piano, they are ok, but if you have a piano or anything heavy, be careful, because you won't know how heavy is "too heavy" for their standard, otherwise you should be prepared to leave something in the old address and find another company to move it again!-

I believe this review left out a vital piece of information, this being that there was in excess of 30 stairs at the pickup address.
Upon making your first phone call to our company you spoke to one of our consultants who advised you that you require at least 4 men to move the piano. After returning to us you advised the same consultant you spoke to initially that you only require 3 men on the job as the piano was only light and that if need be you could help, The consultant then informed you that you MUST help the removalist move the piano.
At no point during any conversation with any of our consultants did we 'promise' to move the piano, in fact the recordings state that you were advised that if the removalists are unable to move the piano safely they do have the right to refuse to move it.

I told you how many stairs from my old address and myh new address, and also told you what the piano model is. If you are experienced as you said, you should know how heavy it is. I never said it is light!
I am over 180cm and over 100kg and is stronger than every man you sent to me, and I can help, you said if I can help 3 men will be ok.
What means promise? If someone said they can do but they don't, I don't know they promised or not. I have nothing to say with such people who don't know what is promise.
Where is my red wine you promised?

Great service, We moved with city removal group late last month and have finally got our internet connected again, just wanted to let people know the things went so smoothly. The guys were really professional and took the greatest of care with the new hardwood floors (I was really worried as we has vary heavy furniture) there is not a thing I can say to fault the team who moved us. Lucky there are question marks ??? on the above write up! They can just charge you what they feel like. I got charged 30 minutes travel time and another 20 minutes at the end because they forced me to sign the paperwork before finishing the job. Also got slugged $15 for some glad wrap on the mattress + they attempted to charge me $100+ for wrapping about 15 plants! I refused to pay but only did they give up after I threatened to call head office.
The guys were polite enough & arrived on time but they were bloody slow I really think they could have been more efficient - 9 hours to move a 1 bedroom apartment 1km..All in all moving is an exhausting experience and these guys made it tiresome and frustrating There are plenty of other removal companies out there so Ill be trying someone else next time.
Also, since they claim to offer a free bottle or wine or discounted cleaning they should follow through. Apparently there was a month delay on the cleaning (which I didnt want to wait) so I chose the free bottle & the promised bottle of wine did not arrive.
I sent head office a complaint e-mail two weeks back and their resolutions department has failed to respond to me after repeated requests.
**Note to management that Ill make a complaint with department of fair trading if my issues are not addressed pretty soon.

I was sceptical after reading some of the reviews but I realised less that an eighth were unfavourable reviews and compared to other companies reviews this one did impress me alot. The office staff are amazingly friendly and helpful, they explained every tiny details and kept no charges hidden. I moved a verry large and verrry full 4 bedroom house from east hills down to canberra and really did expect it to take at least 18+ hours, I was pleasantly surprised when the total came to just under 16 hours. Hope I can coax them into coming back down to move me in a year or 2. -

I am a return customer of city removal group, main reason is that what they say is true.. "when you do something for so long you get pretty good at it". I'm an interior designer and i find myself in a pickle needing a removalist urgently at times, I have never had an issue with city removal group as they are always so accommodating. I find they are a great company and have so much more respect and integrity than many other removalist companies. I will continue to use them because of this. -

Would never use or recommend this company again...worst removalists ever. The 2 guys where nice enough however could barely understand or speak English. What made it frustrating is that they were super slow. It took them nearly 5 hours to do a job that should of taken 2 - 3 hours max. I kept on seeing them having chit chat breaks or just standing around staring at stuff. If they had been consistently non stop for 5 hours I would of had no complaints however they behaviour made me feel ripped off.-

You can imagine my surprise when less that 5 minutes later, I received a Read Receipt stating that the message had been DELETED without being READ. If you are not willing to be genuinely helpful than please do not waste anymore of my time or post frivolous comments without substance to save your companies image.

They didn't speak English. Obviously could read it either as the boxes marked fragile were thrown around like they were pieces of furniture. It took them almost 2 hours to drive from the eastern suburbs to the northern beaches when i drove my car there in 35minutes. Then to top it off, they said they would go and get the last two items from the truck to come in and demand payment before they bring them in.. at this point the time was 2:25pm. But by the time he had come in to say he needs payment first and by the time payment was finalised it then took the time to 2:40pm in the afternoon because of this little trick to get more money (they charge in 1/2 hour blocks), so we were charged an extra 1 hours time, because they couldn't add up the hours properly. When i phoned to discuss this i was refunded 1/2 an hour.. but this is a joke, I feel like the last two items were held for ransom until payment was taken. You seem to forget that we need to trust that after you loaded all our possessions into your truck that you would even turn up at the new place with them all. We had to show you trust, maybe you should do the same! The manager on the phone was rude! I will not be using you ever again.. nor will i ever recommend you to anyone. -

I specifically joined True local just to tell people about this company. The guys who moved me yesterday never skipped a beat even after the lift broke down a quarter of the way into loading the truck. Glad we hired a 3 man team because I felt bad for the guys having to up and down 6 flights of stairs repeatedly. I have used other removal companies before and when out on a whim with these guys and im glad I did. Nibras and his two workers were great, I know who i'll be calling when I move in 12 months time. They were on time but could barely speak or understand English. They were very slow - took them over 6 hours to move the contents of a 1 bedroom apartment. They didn't have a stair climber trolley either. They also damaged numerous items of my furniture. The two men were nice but obviously not professionals. At the end they tried to get me to pay their fuel costs - which I refused. The people in the office were helpful though.I don't think I'd use them again - obviously with these sub-contractors you never know what you're going to get.-

Hi, I just wanted to say how greatful I am for the team from City Removal Group. I was booked in with another removal company which left me high and dry on the day. I was lucky enough to come accross City Removal Group on the net in my haste to find a company who could move me asap. Atheer and his team were fantastic, they managed to move my whole house (3.5 bedroom) from Five Dock to Rhodes in a little over 5 hours. I was amazed as I was quoted 8-9 hours by many other companies.
Once again I would just like to thank you guys for all your help and making my day go from horrible to amazing. I will only ever use this company to move in future.

My experience with this company wasn't pleasant either, they were careless with my fridge and damaged the plug. We had to fix it ourselves as we only noticed the damaged later on in the day when we were going to plug the fridge back on.-
