FAQS:
Q 1: Do I need a doctor's referral?
A: A doctor's referral is not necessary if self funded or to claim on health insurance but is required for motor accident, workers compensation, veterans & Medicare (EPC) treatments.
Q 2: What are the costs and the gap fees?
A: Costs vary for assessment, treatment & hydrotherapy, & within insurance companies there are different levels of cover so we cannot anticipate your gap fee.
Q 2: Do you offer pensioner discounts?
A: Yes we offer pensioner discounts on initial assessment & treatments.
Q 3: Can I attend if not insured?
A: You are still welcome to book if not insured but your out of pocket expenses will be higher.
Q 4: Do I need to book to come?
A: For all land & pool treatment sessions, self-directed pool exercise & classes, you need to book ahead..
Q 5: Can I just come and swim?
A: The pool is a dedicated hydrotherapy pool or rehabilitation, management of ongoing conditions & classes, gentle swimming is fine, but it is too warm for just swimming & may make it difficult for others to exercise. Remember to access insurance claims you must be assessed & given appropriate exercises.
Q 6: Do I need to be able to swim?
A: Many people attend who cannot, or no longer can swim because of joint problems, & still benefit. There are rails all around the pool & floatation equipment if required.
Q 7: Will someone be able to assist with me dressing?
A: We do not have the staff available for dressing/undressing clients but we welcome carers that may assist in the disabled change room.
Q 8: Would I benefit from aquatic physiotherapy/hydrotherapy?
A: Many conditions benefit from aquatic physiotherapy and self managed hydrotherapy programs particularly where reduced weight-bearing is of benefit while exercising as in arthritis, recovery from leg fractures, joint replacements, chronic back injuries, stiff shoulders & multiple joint problems that can all be treated together. Mobility & balance may also be improved.
