This place is great upstairs, a full wrap around balcony that faces the sun on both sides all day long. The 'Chook' burger wasn't nice at all, but other meals I've had here are ok, typical pub food so don't expect too much.
Once the reno is completed this will be a great place to watch sport.

What I don't like is the fact that the good Scotch is found upstairs. So everytime I want to have a decent drink I have to hike upstairs and then walk all the way down to sit with my friends. Sure it's not too bad if you get a seat upstairs, but reading the other reviewers, you can tell this place gets packed and easier said then done. Not to mention that it's a bit harder after your 5th drink.

Can't comment on the food as I usually eat in the many nearby restaurants

Definitely packs out - especially on Friday nights and often before a sporting event at the SFS or SCG. Not in the direct line from the train station to the grounds, but the pub is good enough to de-tour for those in the know.

Drink prices fall into the above average, but for an above average pub, that's fair enough. I personally wouldn't come here to watch sport, as though there are a lot of tvs around, there are also plenty of 'dead zones'. Much better for couples to hide-out in these spots, then to sit down and watch sport.

Give this place a go, if nearby

One of my favourite pubs in Surry Hills. The Clock has a great atmosphere and is always good fun on a Friday night!

Great pub for all occasions - whether it be for after work drinks on a Friday night or a relaxed Sunday beer in the sun on the balcony! They offer quite a variety of beers, and have an extensive food menu ranging from the normal pub food to tapas. Definitely one of my favorite bars in Surry Hills.

Good for a friendly night out with mates or work colleagues.

The food is reasonably priced and the services good.

The food was above average for pub food and the company was in the top 2%.

All in all, always a great night.

To be perfectly honest, this venue wasnt exactly my cup of tea. Im not much of a beer drinker and taking into consideration that this pub had a very limited supply or wines and candy drinks, I found beer was my only option.

The establishment is quite large which can make it difficult to navigate when its packed. The Clock Hotels popularity runs high all week long. Mid week/After work drinks are the main attraction; however you can still find a crowd on the weekend.

Unfortunately in my Clock Hotel Experiences, I always find the general crowd to be less than desirable. The ratio appears to be 1 well dressed person for every 5 drunken sport watching men. Not at all the best environment for friends to catch up.

Still, for cheap beer, a bubbly environment and an interesting crowd, this establishment certainly will suffice.

I have a love/hate relationship with this place. It's big, so it tends to lack atmosphere and can get packed to the rafters on the weekend with girls in tiny dresses and high heels and 20-something boys panting after them. So it's perfect if that's your bag. The music's not great - there's no DJ - and the staff are young and often a bit rude. But that's the weekends for you. It's actually a pretty good place in summertime when you can easily spend an afternoon sitting at the upstairs balcony in the sunshine and people watching the folk on Crown Street below. Food and drink prices are a little on the expensive side, too.

i've recently moved to Surry Hills/Darlinghurst and the Clocks become a favourite local of mine. Great big space - upstairs balcony - perfect for after work drinks and an antipasto on the weekend

'The Clock' as it is known is an old favourite with a very eclectic mix of ppl quiet during the day and, noisy at night its a great Sydney pub usually as a launching pad for the rest of a big night. They have Trivia nights & Pool comps during the week and, young funky crown on the weekends. Upstairs balcony & Bar provides a good view of the street and, the cocktails are pretty good too. last time I went the Restaurant had been turned into more bar/lounge space so not sure if they've closed it or moved it out the back. I rate it.
