How great is Cloudland for swish, pre-dinner or post-dinner drinks? So fancy it seems almost out of place in the middle of the Valley. For me, drinks are a little on the pricey side but the atmosphere makes it worth it. Can't speak for the food as I am yet to try it.

Booked a function. When the all of us arrived they had stuffed up the booking and we stood around for 10 mins. Asked multiple times for a drink (had put down money on a bar tab prior to arrival so shouldn't have been a problem) and were eventually directed to an uncleaned area. I was never offered an explanation, compensation or an apology. Will NEVER go back.

This place is world class - simply divine atmosphere. You go there for the decor and drinks, but the food is also great and reasonably priced.

I had my birthday dinner at Cloudland last saturday night. I'm not one to normally go out of my way to write a review however this time I do feel obligated to make comment.
Firstly, the service we experienced was impeccable. Our waitress (German girl) was very attentive and helpful, particularly with my parents who are often hard to please.
secondly the food was wonderful. We were very well fed on a $55 set menu. The concept has changed to a 'sharing' menu since my last visit in 2010. We were offered a booth in the cocktail bar for after dinner drinks. Unfortunately my parents were tired and we had to decline. I recommend going early as it get's a bit loud later in the night.

Though I have not had the opportunity to experience Cloudland as a nightclub I have to unfortunately say that I would not return there for a meal. My family and I went for a Sunday lunch and were greatly disappointed with the management and kitchen. We ordered three servings of the whole fish and were unable to eat most of it, as they were grossly undercooked. To make matters worse after returning the food back to the kitchen, the fish they brought back to our table were the same three fish simply put back in the oven and then flipped over on the plate. At $30 per main meal I would expect my food to be cooked the first time and certainly be replaced when failing to meet appropriate standards. I also felt that parts of the restaurant had not been cleaned properly after the previous Saturday night.

The waitress staff were lovely, very attentive to our needs and appeared to be happy to enhance our experience. However it felt as though there was no management on the floor and they had been left to organise themselves.

On a positive note the entres were delicious and I would recommend their desserts. I enjoyed the cocktails and will certainly give Cloudland a second chance next time I am out on a Friday or Saturday night. As a cocktail lounge it is lovely however as a restaurant it falls short.

Cloudland seems to be one of those love or hate places. Yes, you WILL be turned down at the door for not wearing proper shoes and a collared shirt. Yes, you will find that Gossip Girl wannabe crowd upstairs. And yes, sometimes the service can be atrocious.

However that does not detract from the fact that this is the most serious contender Brisbane has for an international high class venue. The interior design here is simply jaw dropping. The attention to detail is out of this world. The upstairs toilets are a dadaist work of art. The upstair bar you have to see when the entire thing lights up like a glass UFO. This was also the first place I ever encountered Dyson Airblades instead of those whisper blowers that are just a pretext to drying your hands on your pants anyway.

Music is often fantastic and it's just as nice to visit on a Sunday afternoon as it is lying in the upstairs beds making fun of the preppies. We even started a pillow fight between randoms here!

This is a great place in the Valley to go. The staff are friendly and the service is great. They have both bartenders and waiters walking around so you dont have to wait long for a drink. There isnt really much of a dance floor but there's plenty of areas to sit and relax. The whole club is very impressive looking and they have live music. The dress code is a bit more strict than other clubs which adds to its class. Definitely recommend.

A much more pleasant option on the Fortitude Valley nightclub scene. The decor and strict dress code gives it a classier feel. Not as loud as clubs nearby, so you get more of a chance to relax. Fantastic toilets.

Definitely one of Brisbane's more upmarket night clubs - usually packed with people it slightly replicates 'Budha Bar' in Paris with it's multi-story levels and grand entrance. Cloudland has an extensive wine/bubbles and great music. Lots of beautiful people to purve on too!

Once upon a time, there was the Cloudland Dance Hall, a stunning ballroom venue in Bowen Hills that formed the backdrop of many happy memories for dancers and concert-goers for generations until it was sadly demolished in 1982. Now there is its namesake in the Valley, which opened in 2009 and is so gorgeously decorated – featuring a spectacular retractable glass roof, no less – that it’s like enjoying your cocktails (and food and wine) in the middle of a fairytale. The over-25s like to chill here for some happy-ever-afters.

This isn’t a bar, it’s more like a mini-planet spanning several levels, with its own rainforest filled with curious plant life, water features, sculptures, a restaurant and live bands. Remember the interior of the spaceship in ET? If you can picture that you’ve got a pretty good idea what Cloudland looks like. The bar on level one is made of crystal spheres and LED lights and is unlike any other bar on earth. A truly decadent venue which needs to be seen to be believed.

CLOUDLAND is well worth a visit ?? the decor is unquestionably the most out-there in Brisbane and we haven't even gone upstairs yet.

I'm talking about the decor of the new and much-talked-about Cloudland restaurant, bar and nightclub and I haven't even started.

The restaurant almost defies description. Situated on a curved platform, classic bentwood chairs are pulled up to simple wooden tables; some are communal, some not. There are also wall-papered booths with elaborate light fittings and round banquette seating.

Then there are the low-cushioned Mao-meets-Geisha Girl corners with low tables and a ceiling that looks like a feminine arm tattoo. There are metal baskets with flowing plants hanging everywhere. Upright columns are made of mesh and filled with stones then topped with Perspex caps inlaid with butterflies.

The floor is wood, metal studded, cement, parquet and carpet. Above the dining space is a palm tree-like structure with silk inlays amassed with more butterflies and this whole structure presides over the most indescribable of all – white metal circular booths, padded with c...
