In a fresh, indoor-outdoor environment, with a delightful covered courtyard, Olivetto’s has been a benchmark in suburb dining for years. It’s currently in the capable hands of Paul and Kim Newsham. Paul, who’s in charge of the kitchen, hails from England and trained under Marco Pierre White, and spent seven years at the Hampshire Hotel before running restaurants in South Africa. His crab souffle with crab bisque, creme fraiche and watercress is light and full-flavoured, while the bo-kaap prawn and chicken curry has fragrant tangerine, cardamom, cassia and aniseed. The wine list is well priced.
