ONCE you get past the coffee and chocolate, Paddington's Coffee and Chocolate needs some work to sweeten the experience for patrons.
And the section called Sweet Icons was pretty tempting too, with a selection of fresh strawberries and mini banana breads to dip in your choice of melted chocolate.
The coffee ($4), being Campos, is full and rich, and the waiters know how to make it perfectly.
But there, I'm afraid, the accolades have to stop, because both times we've eaten here it was something of a disaster as far as food and service are concerned.
My first try was a late Saturday breakfast, where the thought of so-called gourmet toasted chicken and avocado Turkish ($14) was appealing.
How can anyone get that wrong?
The chicken breast inside the crisp Turkish toast was tender and fresh, but the avocado had been smashed into a pulp and then heated to the extent that it was positively slimy.
