  • I have to commend the Comet team for the continuously outstanding work on my VW and Audi. I am rather picky about who services and repairs my cars and usually I would only trust a dealership with specialists and genuine parts, as most independent mechanics offer services on all manufacturers and not just European cars. After my experience with Comet my perspective has completed changed. Not only do they specifically accept work on European manufacturers only, they were incredibly quick and even called me ahead of schedule to let me know everything was finished. The last suprise was that the service and efficiency was comparable to major dealerships but the price was significantly cheaper, even though they had only used factory specific genuine parts, fluids and diagnostics equipment. Very impressed!
  • Good service, quick and reliable. I have now had several of my BMWs and Mercedes serviced and repaired by these guys and I am consistently impressed by their abilities in the workshop as well as their professionalism at the front desk. Makes me feel confident that my cars are in safe hands.
  • A highly professional, efficient but personal and friendly company! I had to have a minor service done and a couple of hoses replaced at short notice on my Mercedes. I was a little concerned that it would take too long to find parts but I booked it in a week in advance and told them I would like it done as quickly as possible as well as notified as soon as it was done. They told me it would be done in half a day to a day to be suprise. I dropped it off at 8am, and received a call at midday, picked it up half an hour later and it was all done! The cost was reasonable too, much cheaper than the dealership!
  • I would not recommend these guys to anyone. I went to Comet with a car that had been pre-diagnosed by another mechanic with a faulty gear-box, but they had been unable to source a 2nd hand one for me when the gearbox started jumping out of gear badly at this point, I decided to call Comet and send it to them. I explained the problems, explained that another mechanic had diagnosed the problem as gear box when it was left with them, and asked if they had replacements on hand (had they not, I would have found someone that did) and was assured yes they have replacements. I got a call 2 days later, and was told problem was the clutch, which was going to need replacing. I accepted their \"expertise\" and replaced the clutch, among other smaller items. 2.7grand later I left the workshop, and found a scratch down the entire left side of the car that had been mostly buffered out, this happened whilst in their care, and some scuffs down the side of the bumper on the same side also had an electric window that \"mysteriously\" stopped working whilst in their care. 50 kms after leaving the shop, gears start jumping out again, lo and behold gear box stops functioning in exactly the same fashion as before it was sent to them. Sent the car back to them, was assured that no no the clutch was definately a problem, and now the gearbox must have failed. Was offered to have the gear box replaced at \"no labor cost\" like this was some kind of huge favor...sorry but do the job properly the first time people wont be coming back, the \"free\" labor should be minimum. Have loads of documentation from my \"original\" mechanic regarding diagnosis of clutch. Made a formal complaint about them to Office of Fair Trade. In the end I paid close on 5 grand to have my car restored to working order for a problem that should have cost 1.5grand had it been diagnosed properly in the first place. Their rebuttal belittled the customer and misrepresentations.
    They take no responsibility for \"misdiagnosis\". Guaranteed there will be a rebuttal that attempts to justify their horse**** but in the end protect your wallet, and go to someone, and your cash use someone else. I will never, ever go back there and I will tell anyone that asks not to use them.
  • Had to drop my car in for a routine service. It took two entire days as they hadn't updated the car's software overnight and it was still running when I went to collect it at the end of the second day. Pricey repairs when compared to others. Unreliable. Wouldn't recommend.
    • The bonnet of the car wasn't latched down properly when I drive off, they hadn't replaced the plastic covers for the computer access cables and they assessed the rear wiper and failed to clean the crust/dribble that had marked the back of the car. Not appreciated given the car had just been cleaned and polished. Thoroughly unimpressed.
