My boyfriend-at-the-time (now husband) and I first went to Confit for our anniversary dinner in November 2009 after a friend in the industry recommended them. We liked it so much we went back - for our wedding!

The food is absolutely divine, the atmosphere is lovely, and the wait staff are extremely knowledgable, polite and courteous. I've been here for dinners with girlfriends, friends, and family.

The staff were wonderful to deal with throughout the functions process; nothing was too much of a hassle. They did the cake (an amazing croquembouch made by their talented pastry chef) and helped with the florist. The night was lots of fun and flowed without a hitch.

The only thing they loose half a star for is the music - we specifically requested our own playlist and the Confit staff even provided us with a sound system to play it on, but it was so quiet we couldn't hear it. I understand that we didn't book the whole restaurant and other diners have to be considered, but it was a small let-down for us on the night. So, if you're considering an event there where music is a big deal, you'll just have to book the whole venue!

We will continue to frequent Confit for many years to come, and we're looking forward to dining there to celebrate our first wedding anniversary this year.

Replacing Tisane, Confit is a great place to dine in Brisbane! My new favourite restaurant! The service is fantastic and the food is amazing. The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming. A definite must for Brisbane food lovers.

If you like tea, then this is your obvious place. Not too bad.

If you want to feel like royalty, come here. For an elegant high tea, this is the place. I also love the gorgeous breakfast high teas they serve. The food is exquisite, the service is very very good (even too good?) and the tea of course is lovely.

TISANE'S former pasty chef Renee Peppler bought the restaurant with partner Jason and renamed it Confit. It's a classic French-style bistro.

The all important pastry chef was Renee Peppler, wife of ex-Isis chef Jason.

When Isis closed for extensive renovation and a mission shift at Christmas, Jason began helping Renee while planning his next move. The pair bought Tisane and renamed it Confit in keeping with their idea of creating a classic French-style bistro with reasonable prices and a menu of comfort food.

Cleverly, they kept Vicky McNaughton, a front of house dynamo who helped open and manage Tisane. Her gracious, friendly style lends itself perfectly to the comfort aspect of the bistro.

The menu is a weekly affair and there is nothing even vaguely experimental or unfamiliar at all. Rabbit and pork rillettes is subtle (perhaps a little too subtle) and creamy served with dangerously delicious crusty bread and a salad of rocket and mixed leaves.

We ran through the bread in seconds and requested more. Instead of a couple more slices, Vicky brought us a wooden board with three types of bread, a...
