My friends and I had lunch there today. I can only express that this cafe has a great menu, from an all day breakfast to light meals. Every plate of food we saw delivered to any table looked delicious. So when we received our food we not disappointed. It was delicious! Staff were extremely good and the manager friendly. Overall a good recommend.
I'm not really one to review but felt on this occasion I should. A short rundown of my lunch yesterday. Surly, aggressive greeting by staff on arrival where I felt intimidated enough to order quickly before I had even been seated! Glass of ice for my diet coke was filthy around the top with dirty stains and fingerprints. I chose to drink straight from the can as I didnt want to deal with the staff again. Lasagna arrived with a long thick black hair embedded in the sauce and hanging out the side of the lasagna sheets. Very nice waiter replaced it very quickly and apologised but felt queasy by now. Was overcharged for meal even though price was clearly marked on the special board which I pointed out.
Me & my friends go to Connors for breakfast all the time!! It is awesome. Eggs Benedict, French Toast, Hot Cakes, Avocado Toast and the Moroccan Chicken Salad are some the favorites we choose every time.
They have just changed the coffee brand which is still good. And we always find the service very attentive & friendly.
In all honesty I dont think this cafe is as bad as some reviews here will suggest. Me and my girlfriend enjoyed a decent breakfast, nothing special, but what we ordered. We were served by friendly, although not particularly attentive staff. All round a forgettable but not unpleasant experience.
The service and the food is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! A freezing cold overcast winters day. The heaters are out on the outside dining area, we ask for one to be turned on while we eat. The staff obliges. 5 mins later the management comes over and tells us that we could not possibly be cold and that they have to turn it off. We have to beg for it to be left on, while they make up a million and one excuses as to why it can't be left on. Then the food comes and it is basically uneatable and extremely expensive. A bowl of chips is basically 10 chips and at $5 a bowl.... We also got accused of being tourists and that was why we were cold when we shouldn't have been. Firstly, we live here, secondly my partner is from Norway, so if he is cold then it is COLD! Very disappointing. Do not go.
Not bad for a cuppa, dont often stop in for more. Have had lunch there once or twice. No stand out and not a favourite haunt, but a good central location in Burleigh with indoor and outdoor options. Menu ok.
We were very disappointed with both the food and attitude of a staff member at Connors. Having ordered eggs benedict, the eggs arrived smothered in an insipid, pale sauce which bore no resemblance to hollandaise. Assuming a mistake in the kitchen, we queried with them. They assured us that this was the normal offering, saying that it took too long to make proper hollandaise sauce. They were curt and deliberately offensive, calling me "darling" in a put down manner. When I said "please don't call me darling" they rudely replied that I had been unfriendly - I had simply dared to comment that the sauce did not seem to be hollandaise! Obviously they were only open to compliments, not honest feedback. They made us feel very uncomfortable and we will not return. We have enjoyed many excellent egg benedicts on the coast. Connors inferior attempt bears little resemblance to proper eggs benedict.
