Reviews of Criniti's Parramatta

I'm seeing some quite mixed reviews about this place, however I'm pleased to say that I visited here for the first time last Saturday night and was pleasantly surprised. I booked in advance and had to choose a table seating, with a condition that myself and 3 of my guests had two hours to vacate the table. Understandable given it was a Saturday.

The service was speedy, and have no complaints at all about the service. There was a ton of meals to choose from, from a massive menu. The prices were on the high end, however, for what you pay, you get a decent amount of food on your plate. I had a Gnocchi which just melted in your mouth and one of the best I've had in some time. The garlic bread was just three pieces of crusty, toast things and in my opinion not worth the price I paid.

Overall, there were no major complaints. A very nice meal indeed and will be willing to return another time in the future. Take care going to the toilets though, you have to walk upstairs in a dark hallway. Just as you open the door to enter the toilets, there is a small step, due to the poor lighting, you can hardly see it and is a trip hazard.
  • Do not go to this restaurant!!! We went here on the 20th of May 2013 which was a Monday night. We went as a group of 5. I had the pescatore (seafood) risotto (a chicken risotto was brought out to me first which wasnt what I ordered so I sent it back which actually didnt taste any different to the pescatore risotto that followed) it was bland and tasteless and didnt taste fresh. Another friend ordered the Frank Sinatra pasta which also lacked taste and was just inspirational. The spaghetti and meatballs was hideous. Were they really meatballs or just bread? The other order was fish which was really nice (I cant remember exactly what it was though) and lastly the Salmon dish well my friend was sick afterwards. They gave us a voucher to compensate but we will never eat there again even for free!!

  • I Would Never Recommend Crinitis
    worst place to go !!
They had no clue about my booking including 15 people that i made with them 2 weeks in advance. I wanted to leave right away but they insisted to have me and threw in some "free" bread and sprite
We ended up staying as it was too late going anywhere else with such a large group
    Food was just horrible
So tasteless. These guys are so over rated and so expensive for the type of food they serve
Been there acouple times and always regreted it
  • The food is incredibly almost tasteless especially considering the ridiculous prices and serving sizes. Went there early on a Friday night only to have the waiter tell us we had an hour and a half for dinner because they needed the table by a certain time for a reservation. We didn't even get to enjoy our meal because it honestly felt like they wanted us in and out as soon as possible. They also decided to turn up the music on what seemed like the highest volume, so having a decent conversation was near impossible. Won't ever be going back. Waste of money!
  • Best pizza!!! Average service, but food makes up for it
  • the atmosphere is amazing, I love it at Criniti's, the service is a little bit tardy but that's the only let down for me.

I dined here with my girlfriend on a Sunday night, and the place was buzzing. We were very lucky to be seated immediately without a booking, because for most of the time while we dined there was a line. The atmosphere was really good, and service was good at first. Entree came out quick, and it was nice brushetta. Unfortunately my girlfriends main course was a real let down, and so was the service from here on. We both ordered pasta, and requested some parmesan. He told us he would be back shortly, but after not returning, I had to ask another staff member, who promptly went and got us some. My meal was nice, but my girlfriend complained it was way to salty. I tasted it, and she was right, it was very salty. I told the waiter, and he just said it has prosciutto in it so it will be salty. I understand that prosciutto is salty, but this was over the top, and she couldn't eat it. All he did was say he would tell the chef and walked off. When we went to pay, I mentioned again that she couldn't eat her meal, and they didn't even offer a discount. It really spoiled what would of been a great night.
  • I've now experienced Critini's twice, and the second time was a second chance. The meals are great but what I find let's this place down is lack of service, the fact your squished into your seat in a packed restaurant and you struggle to hear your friends next to you over all the noise. I wouldn't go back again, for me it's not worth the money despite the good meal.
  • The line to get in to this place is testament to how divine the food is! Booking in particular for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights is crucial to avoid a general 30 minute + wait. The serving sizes are generous and during the week happy hour is from 3 - 7pm which includes half price cocktails. Their cocktail menu (and entire menu for a matter of fact) is extensive and I would definitely recommend the zucchini flower stuffed with goats cheese starter - words do not even begin to convey how delicious this dish is! It's important to realise that the restaurant is quite large and can be beyond busy most nights so at times service can be a little delayed but the waiters do the best they can to ensure they get to you - and when any unhappiness is expressed they will bend over backwards to ensure you leave a happy customer (in my own case, and others' that I've witnessed anyway). The pricing may be considered a little steep for some but you certainly get money for value with the portions and how delicious their food is!
  • Great food and price, but its so busy that to get a staff is impossible, very loud so basically eat the great food and talk when you leave!! 3 stars due to poor service
