I couldn't have been more in the mood for pizza, so really, almost any pizza place would do. My favourite local place is closed on a Tuesday, so, I picked up the phone for Crust Pizza. I've had their pizzas before, and while not bad, they don't necessary wow the diner. But, given my low expectations, considerable hunger & lack of other available options nearby - I relented.
Regrettably, I'm invoking the 3 strikes and your out policy here. While past performances where not stellar, they were still passable as food. The last effort by Crust in Surry Hills however was dismal.
Some of the low points: Extra toppings ordered were almost non-existent. I'm part of a small population that likes anchovies. So when I order & pay for 2 x extra anchovies - I expect more than the little critter's left fin!
I understand the base was thin - I like a thin base. But, it shouldn't be at the expense of freshness or overcooked. Which this was both.
Other ingredients were few and far between & the pizza was delivered barely warm.
Look, maybe the guys were having an off night. Maybe I was just unlucky. I don't think you should publicly decry a business just for a bit of dry crust & lacklustre toppings..... but, it was the pizza that broke the hungry person's back.
I can see by the other reviews that other people have had better experiences - so, I hope that is the case for you as well. -

Good pizza - very fast service. Wee had the garlic and cheese pizza to start and then a supreme. good prices too, and not bad looking delivery person too! Always nice when getting delivery. -

We had them delivered to work when working late. Seafood pizza was great. No shortage of prawns. We also had a tandoori chicken pizza. Best I have had. Had to be quick though as my work colleagues were arguing like seagulls for the last piece. Hope one gets opened near to home. -

This is the only pizza takeaway place you'll need in Surry Hills...look no further. A great menu to choose from and the results are always top notch....they aren't shy with the toppings either. The delivery orders have always been fairly swift to arrive.
