A whole lot of things I adore about this women's-only fitness haven. 1. The Curves workout - just a half hour of serious but not debilitating cardio and strength training that doesn't feel like work. It's done to infectious music, moves at rapid but manageable pace, and accomplishes a lot in reasonably little time. It may not be for the dead-serious gym junkie, but for people who want to keep up their fitness without making it their sole reason for living, it's perfect. 2. The Zumba classes - an inspired combination of Zumba dance and Curves circuit, that gives you the rollicking fun of Zumba and the benefit of a full body workout. 3. The friendliness, help and constant care of owner Jane and her staff. Someone is always there to help you through workouts if you need it, and to keep you motivated or just entertained. 4. Women only - and no mirrors! I don't know about you, but the last thing I want to look at when I'm huffing and puffing away (or want a bunch of buffed boys having to look at) is my own awkward self! The only downside is that it's not just down the street from where I live.
