Awesome food, great wine. 'Happening' atmosphere. The Antipasto platter is always a pleasure for the tastebuds and please make sure you leave room for Tiramasu - OMG! I am not even a dessert person but it is incredible. A girlfriend, Hubby and I shared the porcini (mushroom) and pecorino pizza - FULL OF FLAVOUR!!! And plenty for us three after the tasty platter. The establishment sponsors 'Italians' to come and work while studying etc so you really are in for authentic treatment. Enjoy.

D.O.C. Pizza & Mozarella has great food, good service and a great atmosphere. It is a good place to go for dinner for two or in a small group. The prices are a little high for pizza, but the quality of the food more than makes up for that.

DOC is picking up on the overseas trend for mozzarella bars and a desire for ever-better pizza.

This place is pumping. There's been little publicity but DOC has been packing them in since it opened a couple of months back in spite - or perhaps because - of a no-bookings policy. The reason for the crowds is that DOC is the latest venture from Tony Nicolini, and his return to selling pizzas. Nicolini made his name at Templestowe Espresso as one of the pioneers of the Melbourne artisan pizza movement. More recently he's set up and run the funky Carlton Espresso in Lygon Street, where he's championed the piadina and shown how that maligned Carlton strip could embrace a more modern expression of its heritage. DOC is in the same vein, picking up on the overseas trend for mozzarella bars and a desire for ever-better pizza. You can order balls of fior di latte from Cairns, or velvety buffalo mozzarella from Italy. The mozzarella balls are large, so share one and accompany with a little dish of fennel, orange and anchovies, or paper-thin slices of cold meats such as imported p...
