Every experience my family and friends have had with Denlo has been a negative one to this date.

We'd been servicing my mum's 2004 Liberty at Denlo Parramatta for a few years since new. They always seemed to overcharge for the services. The time required for each service is stated in the logbook by Subaru and one time we got a service done which was quoted in the logbook as requiring 2.5 hours of Labour. They charged her $450 for the service excluding parts. I asked them how much they charge per hour they said $9x.00 which then equates to about 5 hours of labour for that service. When I asked why this is they simply said "the time stated in the logbook is only an estimate". Ended up paying $730 for the service and after that I rang around and got quoted $450 all up from an Independent Subaru specialist using genuine parts.

At the next service we took it to the independent Subaru workshop and they found that there was an external head gasket leak (which was always mysteriously missed by denlo mechanics) which was leaking a small amount of oil from the bottom of the engine. We took it to Denlo service to have it fixed since it was still under new car warranty. They looked at the problem and rejected the warranty claim on the basis that "the leak is within reasonable amount and deemed normal for the age of the car" (which was still under new car warranty). 6 months later when the car had just come out of it's warranty we decided to get a final minor service from them since we live close by. Sure enough my mum recieved a call from their customer service notifying her that the car had a leaking head gasket and was quoted $2200 to fix the issue. We havn't gone back there since and ended up trading the car in.

I don't think my family will ever look at another Subaru again, even if they do we will surely take our business elsewhere to one of the other dealers with a better reputation.

I've had several bad experiences with Denlo. Be very, very careful when buying from these guys- they are very dodgy in my view. 3 main reasons why I am very unhappy with them:

    1. Wasnt looking to buy on the day I went there but was advised that it was OK to sign paperwork and pay deposit until my finance was sorted through my bank. There was a delay with the bank and I notified in advance saying there may be a delay of 1 or 2 days, from here i got several pressuring calls from the sales guys saying that I would lose the car and deposit if I didnt produce the cash (which was differnet to what we agreed - was told that there would be no penalty and was the only reason I agreed to sign on the day). After getting nowhere after several calls, I spoke to his supervisor and the story changed and the delay was now somehow acceptable, in the end the finance came through on time (after much time spent pushing the bank) so no issue but it was handled badly with undue pressure tactics.

    2. Cars there are sold with an "extended warranty" by inschape. After you sign the paperwork they will ask you if you want the premium warranty because the one they give covers up to a certain dollar value and has many limitations. With they way they charge it wont be hard to rack up more than what the cover provides, hence the upgrade option - would be nice to know this before you sign hey.THere is a limit on the number of times you can claim within a year. The catch is that you have to service your car with them and ONLY them to maintain the warranty thats not worth the paper its printed on.

    3. "Fixed price servicing" HA! what a con this one is. The sales guy repeately said that you get "fixed price servicing" I was quoted $250 for servicing fixed price, when I book it they say its $289. I complain and they agree to go back to what they said at $250. I turn up with my car and they say that in additon to this my serivce will cost another $200+ and I am completly baffled. The "Fixed price is only for the dodgy inschape warranty they provide NOT THE MANUFACTURERS SERVICE. This was completely misleading, you are left with the impression that your getting a good deal but it is a complete rip off. I asked what my next service cost would be and they quoted me close to $900.

I refused to get my car serviced there on principle and I dont care if it voids my dodgy inschape warranty because it is designed to rake in more money for their dealership. I guess the old addage of "never trust a used car salesman" is true. They talk about how they want to have a 5 star service rating but its a load of rubbish. My advice is that if you are going to buy a Subaru, stay as far away from them as possible.

Couldn't agree more with Dave, I just got a car from them, all is well I must say BUT just don't let off your guard by their friendliness. Stay alert with what they say or offer all the time, never take things for granted. Well, it is applicable to all car dealers anyway but have to be EXTREMELY careful with these guys.

I definitely recommend Denlo Subaru, they gave me fantastic service and a great deal.
I bought a new Liberty from Denlo Subaru in Feb 2011 after weeks of shopping around looking at different brands and different dealerships. The range of service that I received at different dealerships was staggering - some seemed uninterested in earning my business, some were just rude.
The experience at Denlo was a completely different story though; right from when I first walked in I was made to feel at home, I was greeted by a lovely young lady who allowed me time to browse but was there when I needed assistance, she then introduced me to the salesman who was not only courteous but also very knowledgeable.
Once I had selected the model of Liberty that I wanted to buy, we discussed pricing and agreed on a very reasonable offer. After the sale the salesman kept me up to date with the progress of the car that I had ordered until it arrived a few weeks after the initial sale. When I picked up the car all of the features were explained to me and they made sure that I was happy with everything. When I next buy a car I know where I will be going...

I was treated really really badly by this company.

I test drove a car and then drove home to Northern beaches from Paramatta. The next day I received an email asking me to come back and I replied I the vehicle was overpriced.

They emailed back "come in im happy to negotiate, come in and i will work out the best price to earn your business"

So I drove all the way back to Para-doesnt-matter and then got told they wouldnt budge on price. At all. So i walked away, turned around and drove home. 15 minutes down the road my phone rang and they said they would drop the price. We even agreed on a purchase price on the phone.

So I turned around and drove back and was then told the vehicle had MAGICALLY been sold in the 10 minutes between when they rang me to offer me the car.

I strongly suggest looking elsewhere for a vehicle
