We went for dinner on Friday night after work, food was real good. My favourite dish was the creme brulee, real yummy!

Hi BreeS88, thanks for coming in for a meal on Friday we're glad that you enjoyed your experience. Keep an eye out for some new desserts arriving soon, they're sure to rival the creme brulee.
      Thanks,

We took visitors from UK to have Italian food in Lygon Street. How cool is that! We had a freebie calamari as we had to wait over 30 minutes for our table. Great! We all had starters , bottle of Italian wine, but 3 of us had Marinara pasta which was tastless, with a few cubes of dry fish cubes........at . @ $28.90 each. Sad to say we wont be coming back and I decided not to leave a tip too! (service was friendly and good)

Hi jacq87, thanks for your feedback and for bringing your guests from the UK in to join us. Apologies for the delay in getting your booking seated on your particular evening - delays aren't something anybody likes. Hopefully the 'freebies' made up for it. We're dissapointed that you didn't enjoy the Marinara, it appears that we made a mistake in the kitchen. We're constantly working hard to ensure that we serve food to the highest standard and your feedback is appreciated. We hope that you will one day join us again, I'm certain that you won't have a bad experience next time.
      Warm Regards,
      Paul DiMattina.

The wild wind roared outside, but we sat snuggled inside the cosy, popular restaurant, teased by the tempting selection on the menu. I plumped for the oysters and followed up with the restaurants signature dish, the seafood platter. Neptune himself would have been impressed with the array, quality and amount available. The platter for 2 was definitely big enough for 3 and left you wanting nothing more but a finger bowl to wash those messy hands.

Although, the desert menu was a must and I was persuaded ( quite easily) into trying the Lavender Creme Brulee, which I have to say, was ambrosia to the gods!

The service was splendid and definitely worth a mention thanks to our very attentive waitress, Jana who anticipated our every need! Well done..

All in all a very enjoyable evening, was I believe had by all! A definite must for the list of places to visit in Melbourne!

Great range of prices and options for entrees, mains and desserts.
The scallop entree was a little overpowered by the skordalia, Parmesan and pancetta but still tasty. The braised lamb shoulder special with israeli couscous was tender and tasty and my companions share seafood platter for two can feed 3 ! No need for an entree with the seafood platter !
The desserts were divine - sultana and ricotta tart with dates, lavender Verne brulee and meringue with orange marmalade chic genache and ice cream ... Yum !
Service was good ( thanks Jana) and overall a great night.

      Hi Mizzer,
Thanks for your kind words and constructive feedback. We've made some alterations to the scallop dish you spoke of and the Scallop dish has improved thanks to you. The seafood platter is always a winner and we think it's going to be mighty popular this spring/summer.
We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Thanks for taking the time to let the world know about Dimma's.
      Thanks,

Well priced, tasty dishes with that un-mistakable Lygon Street atmosphere. We started with a selection of their entrees including the calamari, arroncinni balls, oysters and olive bread - all delicious. For main I selected the eye fillet (medium rare) which was cooked to perfection. We then chose a selection of deserts to share with the creme brulee absolutely fantastic. Service was very good and the wine list is very reasonably priced. Great night out.

Thanks for your review @Kane1978 we're pleased to hear that you enjoy the new additions to the menu. We look forward to seeing you again in the near future.

I will never eat here again. I have never had a problem with the food at Dimattina's and have visited there numerous times. Unfortunately the last time was the last. The service was plain awful. We sat for 10 minutes before even being offered a menu or drink. It took ages for the drinks and food to arrive and then waiting for the bill ....well! I could have forgiven all of that except for the fact that when I pointed out that the service that evening was terrible I got no response, until I turned my back and my diner companion saw the obscene gesture being directed my way.
If that is the respect they have for customers who take the time to give constructive feedback then I know this place will never improve and deserve no support from me.

The food at Dimattina's Resaturant is to die for. Whether you are after seafood or an Italian dish, you will find something here to tempt you. The food is well worth the price you pay, and the wait staff are very friendly. They will come around as often as necessary to see if you require anything else.

Yep! Shaz, I so agree, the Moreton bay bug's, I have them served on spagetti, are the BEST!!! The waiters are the most helpful bunch of people, and the ambience on the footpath dining area is amazing. My dog, "Chucky" is always welcomed, he also confirms that the food, his personal favorite's their lamb shanks, are spectacular. My Sydney guests never fail to be amazed by the quality of this restaurants diverse food, huge menu & excellent wine list. Caz Hedley.
