Doctor Pong - had my birthday there on 13/11/10, booked a space and on arrival told they had double booked so no space available. Then bouncer and manager wouldn't let half of my (well dressed perfectly normal) guests in from 9pm onwards as it was 'at capacity' - even though I had booked my birthday there for 20 pax and only had about 10 pax inside. Poor attitude from bouncer and manager all night, would NOT recommend it to anyone wanting a hassle free celebration. Doctor Pong = FAIL.

Great atmosphere, really good music, unpretentious crowd, excellent food and ping pong right in the middle of it all. You'll probably have to queue to get in at weekends, but it's worth the wait.

Any place that has a table tennis as the feature of its bar has already got a tick in my books. The funky interior themed like American style university bar with the stereotypical red plastic cups.

The bar also features a restaurant which I have been to a couple of times. The menu is Modern Australian with a large influence on seafood. I think on Wednesday night is $10 pasta night, but we got their a bit late and they were out of everything.

If your with a group of friends drinking and do feel like a nibble try the Antipasto platter. Yummmo. One of the best I've had and its only $16.

Only reason this place doesn't get more stars is that the service sometime feels like the waiters have had 'a bit too much' before their shift and don't really know what's going on at times.

This bar has a good feel, good decor and the service is quick and friendly. I do recommend it and love the idea of ping pong in a bar. there are however two issues which could easily be resolved to make this a great bar. 1. better beer selection on tap. 2. real ping pong balls. the light ping pong balls make the game very annoying as they are affected by the wind to make it almost unplayable. Why use these balls anyway? Are they worried about someone in the bar getting hurt from a real one. c'mon don't be so wimpy. Perhaps the tip is to take your own balls :)

Doctor Pong is one of the best bars I have experienced in along time. Thank god there is somewhere to go where you can dance and just let your hair down. Great food and atmosphere. I will be definately organising my birthday party there this year.

New bar in Darlinghurst which has a lounge with Ping Pong tables. Also has outdoor seating and is great for a hot summer day as the bar has huge open windows. Can get very busy on a Friday or Saturday but a really good place to go for a casual mid week drink.
