    This Tavern looks the part but it has the worst service of any pub I have ever been in (and there have been a few!) The staff have absolutely no concept of customer service. I keep returning to this place (as it is convenient) and every time I am stunned by the total rudeness, arrogance and apathy displayed by the staff. It isn't enough to just look good! The food is okay, but too expensive. The wait staff are friendlier, but it is the bar staff who give the place a real lack of atmosphere or enjoyment. Avoid at all costs!

    We had a terrible experience at Dog and Parrot on Saturday night. Having just moved into the area we thought it nice to "shop local" so we rang and booked a table for 7. At their request we also gave them our mobile number. We arrived 9 minutes late, waited in line for 10 minutes and then when we got to the counter, we were informed by the order taker girl that we were late and our table had been given away. We then asked if there is another table, to which she simply looked away, ignored us and immediately called out "next" to the people waiting in line behind us! We were all (including 4 small children) standing there dumfounded and were stunned at her rude service and ignorance of us. We are the most easy going people and I have never been subjected to this substantial rude service in my 30+ years of dining out.
    We promptly left, and spent our money elsewhere (a dinner party of 7 so this so called establishment missed out - and will never get our business ever).

    We had a really bad experience here - our meals were sitting up on under the heating lamps for 45 minutes and we thought "Gee, I feel sorry for whoever is getting those meals' To our horror - we were those people! We said to the waitress that there was no way we were going to eat meals that were sitting under the heat lamps for 45minutes. Apparently they lost our docket and didn;t know where the food was going.

    The head chef spoke to us and apologised and gave us a refund and some vouchers to come back. He also offered to make us some pizza to take home so we didn't leave hungry. I thought that was very nice of him to consider us like that. It wasn't his fault (it was the Sous chef that sent the meals out), but he really put in a big effort to win us back. Our next visit was excellent - good recovery Dog & Parrot :>

    The smell of smoke is stuck to everything - however the prices can not be beat any where. Good place to stat your night - Thursday's is full of Uni students - good looking collage girls def brink in the crowd so get there early.
