    Dr Breakey did a fabulous job of anaesthetising my husband during a procedure he underwent last year.

    My husband had a procedure done in October of last year, the bill arrived, which we thought was odd, but forwarded onto our health fund for payment (usually just pay the gap and the practice does the rest with the Health fund). We heard no more about it, until a few months later we received a reminder - sent this through to health fund, as advised by surgery, rang and told them that we had done so. Then bill comes again..... this time with debt collection threats - spoke to them and advised that I have done all I can do, etc, bill with health fund.... Then I get a call from a debt collector regarding the account - telling me they will waive late fees if I pay now???!!!
    Rang and spoke to my health fund who are amazed that we have received this treatment from this practice when normally this is all dealt with through a practice and health fund only...they had received the invoice and had sent a letter to the practice as they were unable to pay the account without additional information (as the invoice did not have all the details that were required on it) and the health fund requested this information urgently - ) this was back on 30/03/09). The health fund had not heard back from the practice in all that time despite their request for the information, however they were quick to send me out reminders and threats to pay or legal action would result. When I have called the practice, I have been speaking with a person who is a most unhelpful who does not see it as their job to help customers and actually advised me today that the Doctor was in surgery all week and may not have time to call me and that the health fund had nothing to do with this claim, we are liable, between the Dr and the patient (despite them originally telling me to send it to the health fund!) This is the worst form of customer service I have encountered for so long, be wary when choosing your health professionals, as like us you may be caught out and end up having the same thing happening to you. Check what the staff are like as well, not just the Dr. I would never use this practice again. We have health insurance for peace of mind, ease and for available options....
