Dracula's Theatre Restaurant

Directions
Have you ever lost sleep wondering what it would be like if you could combine a ghost ride tour, a gothic themed comedy show and a meal in one night out? Yes? No? Well, it doesn't matter anymore because if you did... you don't have to anymore.

'Dracula's Theatre Restaurant' in the Melbournian suburb of Carlton promises a night of fun for all participants and is one of the very last to remain out of the dying breed (har har) that is themed restaurants. They specialise in hosting kids parties, but parents don't have to miss out with a graveyard bar serving a wide range of ghostly cocktails to calm even the most nervous of parents.

Ring up and book and you'll be greeted by a Transylvanian hold voice (I'm not joking), before you're put onto a friendly operator who will help you organise a fun night out.

Had an absolute ball, I went for my 26th birthday with a group of 10! And we all loved it! Food was amazing and so were the drinks! The staff were very nice and the show was funny! Could not stop singing and laughing. Would highly recommend for a good night out!!

What can I say: Food = disaster three courses of complete waste. Cutting corners where food is concerened is not very "proffesional". The actors must not have go the "Dark Cabaret" memo because there was not a monster, zombie or mummy to be seen on stage, only amature perfomers attempting of a cabaret knock off. It's like Richard simonds and Ron Jeremy got together and decided to make a colabiration that turned out to be a bad version of a rock estedford.

Went with a group for my 24th Birthday. Loved the food!!! Especially dessert which was horror themed!! The cocktails were beyond awesome and the show was amazing!!! I was very impressed by the talent they put into the show to make it unique... Acrobatics, puppetry teamed with fantastic singing and acting was amazing.. Well worth the ticket prices, everybody enjoyed themselves. We WILL be back!!! (this is a COMEDY/horror themed restaurant, so expect that when you come and you won't be disappointed!!!)

My boyfriend and I travelled from Sydney especially for the NYE show... being a huge horror fan I was disappointed. The decor was gorgeous but the show was not dark at all. The 'vampires' belted out popular songs and comedy but there was nothing dark about it. The food was disappointing and after hearing rave reviews about the gift store, it was the size of a shoe box.
The tables were cramped and it was so hot and stuffy.
I would be interested to visit the Surfers Paradise Draculas to see the Horror Museum, but would definately not recommend the Carlton location, especially not for New Years Eve.

We paid the $99 a head price, VIP champagne and canapes - unfortunately the champagne was like vinegar, the canapes were awful bits of melba toast and something I am not sure of on the plate. The drinks, when they did come were over priced. The show was awful, nothing themed about it, just random non-horror stuff thrown together, and performed with as much talent as in infant school play. Because the other people on our table where late (and no we weren't a group), we waited just over an hour between our entree and main. The food would have been more appetizing if they had ordered in McDonalds. Don't waste your money.....I wish I had read this site before we went.

What a complete waste of time and money. We expected to attend a themed theatre restaurant, only to discover a mediocre, disjointed money pit. From the moment we entered, we had the impression that the staff were routinely patting us down to see if we had any more money. $200 to enter for a completely sub-standard meal. $20 per round of drinks for 2 people. We paid the premium price of $99 per person, rather than the normal price of $72. For our extra $27, we received a glass of cheap fizzy wine, 3 pieces of melba toast. The 'show' was incomprehensible and consisted of some arts students singing some current top 40 numbers, while the service staff were exceedingly rude. Throughout the evening we were subjected to sales pitches trying to convince us to buy some rubbish flashing demon horns or eyeballs or similar crap. There was a gap of some 90 minutes between entree and main course, then another gap of 60 minutes between main and dessert. I would rather pay someone the same amount of money to repeatedly kick me in the testicles. It would be much better value for money, and much less painful than the show.

This would be the most I have ever paid for a meal & show but it was worth it. The theater show was funny, the meal was fantastic and the cocktails were great too. I went with a group of people and we all loved it
I would love to go back, but dont live close enough to go often.

Thoroughly disappointed with the evening. The staff were rude and unfriendly, and the show not as great as it's made out to be. The food was extremely average, and our meals were stuffed up, along with our drinks order. When we complained, we were met with hostility. Not the best.

I have been to Dracula's Theatre Restaurant several times, and I have not been disappointed. The staff put on a wonderful show, and the food and drinks are fantastic. It is a wonderful night out, especially if you are dining with a group of people. Make sure you book ahead so you will not miss out. At the end of the night, have some photos taken with the actors and enjoy the disco!

Wonderful! I would recommend this place to lots of people. They do kids parties but I would say that it is better for people over 16. The whole night is well done. Take a ghost train to the restaurant and spend the night being entertained. Everything from the utensils and cutlery, to the stage show, to the waiters fits in perfectly with the theme.
