One of the best places for yum-cha in Sydney. Great range of dishes to choose from. On Fridays they have a market along the street with a small food store. The egg/custard tarts are fresh and the pastry is crisp. Highly recommend

Had YUMCHA here and it was pretty good, the flavours are on point! No a lot of variety but make sure you get the roast duck, dumplings, prawn rice noodles and the chicken feet if you are into it. Avoid on weekends because they get extremely busy!

If you are looking for a Chinese banquet dinner with a big group of friends then go to east Ocean - the food is cooked nice and the portions are a good size.

So cheap and so good. Go in a decent sized group to make sure you can get many options. You have to be super quick in snapping up waiters though as they always too busy and pretty much run past you. So the service isn't the greatest but the food is really good.

The food is average here. Maybe I'm just not a yum cha kind of person. The staff were a little pushy and almost over charged us for extra plates that we didn't have. It took 4 people to figure out who wrote down the extra plates that we never consumed and argued with each other whilst standing over the top of us. I might go back here again for Chinese dinner but not for Yum Cha.

Awesome restaurant to visit in Chinatown for Yum Cha or some special dinner with your family and friends. I went here for dinner the other day with my friends and it was a pretty good experience. Prices can be really expensive as dishes cost around $20-$30 each, but the quality and taste of the dishes are well worth it. In addition, the service and ambiance of this place ...read more

East Ocean restaurant is perhaps one of only a few Chinese restaurants in Sydney that have stood against the test of time, attracting many customers and celebrity chefs alike. Located on the second floor of an original building, accessible via the steep stairs at the front (and elevators on the back), this more-than-spacious restaurant are always filled with people, if ...read more

Relatively busy Cantonese restaurant. Good service, the jellyfish salad and soft ifumie noodles are very nice. There are complimentary fruits for dessert after dinner.

Oh man... everybody loves this joint and so do I. Being Asian myself, I don't really like Asian food much. Been eating it my whole life, get's boring but East Ocean is the bomb. My fam go every so often and it's never ever disappointed. Service is great, atmosphere is...well... Asian. BUT GOOD! decorated really nicely, it's clean, there are fish tanks to occupy ...read more

Great food and good service. I loved the chicken in sweet and sour sauce - that's always my favourite and first choice when I visit Chinese restaurant, but this one stands out.
