The seven-day-a-week breakfast keeps going until mid-afternoon so few people actually miss out on the scramble for their eggs benedict or bacon and egg focaccia. East Terrace Continental a is contemporary cafe with good food, good coffee and very flexible behaviour during the week. Popular for week-day breakfasts and early-morning meetings, and there's a balcony upstairs for small functions and extra privacy. An eclectic lunch menu demands little in the way of money or sophistication yet provides much satisfaction.

food is good but definitely not worth waiting excessive time for- and the staff were upity and rude- such a shame given the recommendations we had!

This place has an extensive menu for breakfast. As foreigners we sat on the side-walk for 10 minutes before we realised there is no table service (no sign or note on the menu, clearly the locals know what to do). Once we ordered at the counter the service was quick from the kitchen. Bacon and eggs were good but toast was pretty basic - would have earned another star for decent bread, not the Tip Top basic stuff served (and seemed to be very little option when I asked). The coffee was good and this is certainly a buzzing place the locals like. Reasonably priced too.

Great coffee and a big brekky menu with lots of interesting choices - what more could you want? Good service and the prices are reasonable.

What a fantastic place for breakfast! The food is delicious and the service is attentive. Good value for money, a must for breakfast in the city.

ETC is THE place to go for breakfast in the city. Fabulous atmosphere and the food is just awesome. Book in advance for breakfast on the weekend as the cafe fills very fast!
