I went here for a group birthday lunch recently and it was actually really good. While I wouldnt normally be excited about thai as a lunch option, I was pleasantly surprised at the setting. The function room is on the first floor, you there are double doors opening onto a little Paddington-style balcony, where you can have a drink and look out over bustling fiveways. We had a set sharing menu, so we didnt get to choose what was ordered (that may have been left up to the host), but all of it was quite yummy. The only downside was that considering we paid $30 for food alone, I didnt really think we were given enough. And unfortunately upon finishing the meal, we were sort of rushed out of there, just as we were settling in. Despite that, it was a surprisingly good venue for a group meal, and Id definitely consider it again.
Whether you eat in or take away Eat Thai always delivers. Eat Thai is one of those few Thai restaurants you can depend on always delivering the same high quality of food and service. If you're sick of shopping around for decent establishments this one is always a good bet. Its not super gourmet but it certainly hits the spot. The Massaman beef curry is top on my list of dishes! The beef just melts in your mouth and the sauce is to die for.
Ive ordered home delivery from Eat Thai in the past and it always arrives before they say it will, which is rare for home delivery in this town! Would definitely recommend Eat Thai for good quality fresh Thai in the Eastern Suburbs.
Comfortable and very friendly the restaurant is almost always full. The staff almost always find you are table though. Full of ambience and relatively quick service it is the ideal place for a feed after a long day at work or an afternoon at the Royal Hotel.
For a "cheap and cheerful" Thai Restaurant, I think Eat Thai is the way to go.
