Established in 1966 this is a family owned and operated business started by Edward to cover a niche market when Japanese Cars were new to the Aussie market and no one in Sydney was specialising in these cars. Today Edward Lees Japanese Auto Centre is the market leader, being the largest volume retailer of imported Japanese cars in Australia.



1995 saw Edward elected President of the MTA (NSW) and in 1996 when he was elected as President of the MTAA (Motor Traders Association Australia), an honour that has never been bestowed before to an independent used car operator.

    Last weekend (2 March 2013) we flew down to Sydney to collect our Elgrand from Edward Lee's. Graeme had got the vehicle ready and it was well present on the forecourt waiting to go. All the work was completed and they even replaced the battery.
    We completed the paperwork with no hassles. Graeme put some fuel in for us and showed us the route out to the Pacific Hwy. We had our 2 yo grandson with us and he just loves being high up and being able to see so much more than from a car.
    We drove in luxury back to Brisbane on the Sunday but just wanted to keep cruising.
    I did alot of research for people movers available in Australia and believe me there is nothing that can come close the the high spec of the Elgrand. It is in near showroom condition with low mileage, the internal trim quality is to limousine standard and the features are oresome. What might appear little things are very useful, such as the soft self latching doors and the keyless entry system. You do not need to take the key out of your pocket to unlock the doors or to start the engine. This vehicle is so full of features.
    The engine is powerful so you do not feel like you are driving a large vehicle, we left most cars standing at lights and overtaking is safer as it takes off as soon as you plant the pedal!
    The grandson loves the remote controls, the fold down monitor and electric sunroof.
    During the week I connected an old laptop to the video system and had the monitors working in no time, watching Topgear Uk. Just need to configure computer output to NTIS video format, set car video to av and radio to aux. Family were most impressed.
    This weekend I will fit a digital tv decoder and have TV, USB, DVD and recorded tv programs as well. Also sourced an Iphone AV ouput lead from JAYCAR, this will allow me to stream all features of my mobile through the monitors including music, video and gps.
    Phil and team, thanks for selling this vehicle to us but don't sell too many as we feel we are in a secret club of Elgrand owners at the moment!

    We found Edward Lee's on the net while researching the importation of a Nissan E51 Elgrand as this vehicle far exceeds those available in Australia. The vehicles offered were in excellent condition for their age and had low km's.
    Has been most helpful and professional together with his staff who have always been polite and not pushy as you might expect from other car dealers.
    We flew down from Brisbane last week to inspect the vehicle which was ready outside. It was well presented and drove better than a car. Phil's staff looked after us and even took us back to the train station. I left my phone in the car by mistake but one call to Phil and his staff brought it to the station for us.
    There was no pressure to part with the cash and they are even looking after the vehicle until we can collect it next week.

    Great service & value. Went there to buy 06 Nissan Elgrand & ended up also buying Nissan Cube aswell. All extras I asked for where done on both cars. Would recommend them & will be back in a few years to trade both these cars on 2 more.

    They have some nice cars be be wary, i bought a car from them a while back and after 3-4 months of hassles i found out that they basicaly did not tell everything from the start - they stated parts were replaced when they were not , it was also found that their mechanic put a thicker oil into my car to try "stop" the noise...get a NRMA inspection before you get anything from them - dont take the extended warranty take the cheaper price its useless anyway. very dishonest and disapointing to see.
