Reviews of El Bulli Del Punto

  • Food was tasty but i agree with other reviews that it way too salty! I must have drunk 3L of water on my return home. Also, although we were served by seemingly friendly wait staffs the food was brought out super quick (not necessarily a bad thing) and overall it felt like we were just a dollar sign to them. We were interrupted numerous times (by various wait staffs) & quickly picked up (the obvious hint) that we were being rushed. I appreciate that it was a busy Sat night but three times (!) we had to tell them that we were still eating. Our bill was brought to us without being requested and no sooner had we eaten our final mouthful (& begun to finally talk) before a wait staff came over and politely kicked us off the table ( insincerely telling us "I dont mean to rush you" in the very same breath!) We had literally just finished eating our ($87) meal. Lucky for them we aren't slow eaters. Despite El Buli's seemingly cool exterior & popularity I could definitely not recommend it as a relaxing, intimate or romantic spot for those wanting a relaxed date night. I got the impression they are relying too heavily on their reputation and may at some point get stung if (unlike almost every other restaurant) they don't allow you the decent courtesy to have some time after a meal to enjoy the dining experience. In some ways you could liken to ElBuli to a fast food chain. We live fairly close by and were home in under two hours from departure!
  • Overall the experience was good. The staff were friendly, atmosphere was good and the food was tasty. If you go, try the slow cooked lamb backstrap!

My husband and I took 2 very fussy friends here for dinner and they absolutely loved every dish that came out! I even got the guys to try the sangria, and they were converted! The service is fast and friendly, and you have to finish off with the churros. They are to die for! The only negative would be that it is small and cramped, but it's worth looking past that as the food more than makes up for it.
  • Best Churros I've ever had!
  • My Favourite restaurant in Sydney. Food is fantasic- gnocci with blue cheese sauce is a must! Sangrai is fantastic!
Service is always good and staff a really friendly.
Always packed so booking in advance is a must.
    Defienetly recommend !
  • We had a work function here recently and everyone seemed to have a good time. The food was really nice and all enjoyed the singer with guitar. It was slightly cramped but nice decor and vibe! Am planning to go back and have my birthday there with the girls.
